Bumper filler question

Well, the front driver side bumper filler for my tacoma fell off... and got lost.



Any suggestions on place to buy? Like, can I buy it to match my car color or am I going to have to somehow paint it? Would my best option be to buy this (http://www.amazon.com/Replacement-T...UTF8&qid=1448679258&sr=8-1&keywords=TO1088108) then get a spray can of the perfect match, and paint it?

That price is about right. Some on eBay same price range free shipping. Paint to match. Seems like I saw a thread here regarding ones already painted. Not sure.

 

Well, in total it'll cost me about $18-19 (including buying the part, paying for shipping, and going to auto part store and buying the perfect match spray paint)

Not sure if this is a good price, or if there's something of same price with it already painted.

Yup. I mean, if you're that worried about shelling out the cash, spend a little more and save in the end. By buying another set and painting them whilst using all the paint instead of letting the rest of it go unused. Then if/when one pops off again, bam you got it ready. Or try selling them. I ended up powder coating mine, only because I had black powder and the tools to powder coat Mine have become a little loose again over time. I just bent the clip on tabs a little to make it tighter. But now they're a bitch to get back off if need be. On a side note, I also installed bolt leds inside them for turn signals

 

I was going to give you the extra one I had but I just looked and it says "right" on it. Oh well.
Easy to paint. Lightly sand it down to scuff the part. Wipe it down with acetone. Spray it with self etching primer and let dry for a day. Pick up a small can of color on ebay which are exact match (color code is on your vin sticker). Put about 4 coats on it so that you have layers for color sanding, allow dry time between each coat. Depending on your year, a lot of the Toyota paints were single part and dont require clear coat. After color sanding you can get some compound for buffing and buff that part out to a nice shine. Do not wax it for at least 2-3 months.
I did this process on mine, I replaced both; they were rock chipped and dinged. In the end they looked like they were put on by the factory. Mine are just the ebay reproductions.
I saw a guy selling prepainted ones on ebay some time ago, but he wanted about $80 each plus shipping. Plus, he had caveats all over his page not accepting returns and that it is up to you to verify your color and that there may be differences in shades. Im assuming he got bullied by ebay to do a return and so he stopped listing them. Much cheaper to do it myself.
