I searched the forums and was unable to find anyone else that has installed these headlight bulbs in their Taco.

    http://www.amazon.com/OPT7-Headligh...pebp=1433549031196&perid=0553K296NXRDY5MMRFM1

I am very leery of LED headlights in general after KBVoodoo's disastrous experiment with Lifetime LEDs, but I hear good things about Bright A** LEDs.

Has anyone tried OPT7 out? They have good reviews on Amazon, 4 1/2 stars with 58 reviews. Also, the red aluminum heatsink looks cool!

    Any opinions?

As Justus posted above, I have these, after adjusting them again, I don't get highbeamed as often as before. They are very bright. I haven't had them for more than a month or so but so far so good. I give a detail review in my build thread. Follow the link Justus posted.

20150605_184502.jpg OK, they are in! Yes, the fans are loud! They do match the Morimoto fog lights and my switchbacks well! Fingers crossed that they last. Anyone have an OPT7 burn out?

Just ordered a set for my 2013s headlights. Bought their harness for my led bar, and bought their h11 fogs which fit, look, and perform flawlessly. They guaranteed I will love them or I can send them back.. well see!

High and low beam. They are very bright. Recommend put the glare guard mod on them if you get them. See the link in my sig.

No issues with condensation. I was able to use the stock rubber dust caps on 2008

Great wasn't sure cuz on Amazon doesn't specify if it's hi/low . I'll take a look at the mod. Nice I might order these soon if no condensation .

No condensation here. Lights still going strong!

A glare guard is a good idea. These things throw out light everywhere and will piss off whoever is in front of you for sure.

    I think I need projectors. ..

I have had mine since April. I do have the white/amber LED switchbacks as well. I think it looks good! :)

The "glare guard mod" addresses the blinding scatter issue with these OPT7 LEDs. The Phillips have the glare guard built in. The manufacturer of the Osram bulbs that are linked say they are illegal for road use. Though nothing I've found on line says that LEDs are "street legal" either. o_O

LED retrofits are illegal, HID retrofits are illegal, and over wattage halogen bulbs are illegal. The only legal headlight upgrade is stock wattage halogen bulbs.

That said the only 100% optically correct upgrade for a halogen reflector is a halogen bulb. Hence why I recommend high wattage performance halogens with a standalone harness.

Looking into these as well. $99.99 on Amazon right now. @mrkabc where did you get your white/amber DTRL lights? and looking for a good LED fog light to match. Suggestions?

Hi Ryan: I picked up a pair of these back in July 2014, and they work great to this day:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-pcs-3157-...Switch-Back-/271245336551?hash=item3f277b5fe7

You'll need a set of resistors to go with them as well. You can get a set of these:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/261510632698?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

You only need 2 out of the 4, but for the price it's good to have spares so you can do your rear turn signals with LEDs as well. :)

Fog lights are Morimoto Toyota LED XB fog lights:

    https://www.theretrofitsource.com/c...to-xb-led-fog-lights-toyota.html#.Vlv4iuSFNhE

They had a group buy a while back and were selling these lights IIRC for around $130 or so. They are DOT approved, easily installed and look great!

Here's the complete setup - LED headlights, foglights, and the white/amber switchbacks. It's all white!

    20150613_203753.jpg 20150613_203830.jpg

@crashnburn80, I agree with you that LED retrofits are illegal and so are HIDs. However, the look of the stock yellow halogen POS bulbs are SO annoying - the sickly dim yellow light is right out of the 1970s and looks like crap:

    20150605_184726.jpg
(stock halogens with white LED foglights and white/amber switchbacks)

Yes, there is scatter but I think with @Wile's "glare guard" mod I think you can have your LED cake and eat it too. I'm looking in to doing the "glare guard" mod so that I won't be one of "those guys" on the road. I really wish they would have made a decent aftermarket projector headlight assembly that costs less than $1000 though - the "hidguy" retrofits look really good but can really thrash your wallet. (Edit: Turns out that "hidguy.net" is a fraud... google them to see for yourself!)

My Taco and my Mustang are both 100% LED and I will *never* go back to those crappy halogen bulbs again!

I tried a set after my Lifetime LED's went out. Thought I would give them one more shot but they sucked. I had them on for 30 mins and one went out. I'm done with LED. The aftermarket technology just isn't there "yet". It will be one day but as of right now it's hit or miss. Something you have to think about is if you are away from home and one (or both) go out you are screwed unless you carry a extra set of headlight bulbs in your truck which I doubt most of us do. It's not like just popping in a set of regular bulbs. I miss mine when they worked because they were great. Just not worth the hassle for me.

I hear this all the time. Yes... they are technically illegal. As is most of the stuff we do to our trucks. When I did have the LED's in my truck the beam pattern was no different than stock. Just a white light rather than a shitty yellow glow. HID's in a stock housing I completely agree with but every time I hear someone say something that we do is illegal I tend to roll my eyes. As long as it is not harming anyone else (and contrary to what I'm sure you'll say, LED's do not scatter) then I don't really worry if it is illegal or not.

I've had these on for over a year and have never had a complaint nor been stopped. And yes... before you say it... they are illegal.

    20140808_182510_zps78389494_b8516c3f1d0c02d2343dbc9ce3714cacf8d0961f.jpg

    IMG_0484_zpsikdbswn2_2ee52f7649cdea00683e67ecdc9956b52584a912.jpg

*EDIT* My front bumper is not DOT approved therefore illegal
