Detailed bed dimensions

My Google-fu game is weak and I can't find detailed dimensions for the short bed. If someone could pull these measurements for me I'd really appreciate it:



Oh, and bed depth, wheel well height, and top of bed to top of cab height as well. Thanks.

B - 60 1/2"
C - 42" C @ Top of well 45 1/2"
D - 52 1/2"
BED DEPTH - 19"
WHEEL WELL'S - 9 1/2"

Care to share what you are planning to do with those measurements?

 

Sure, planning a lightweight slide-in pop-up made primarily from Cana-Core or Nida-Core. Doing a simplified preliminary CAD model to determine materials needed. I can usually get a screaming price on Fiberlay stuff and if Cana-Core prices out okay I'm going to plan on getting what I need on my next supply run later this month. Actual construction won't be until spring at the earliest, and knowing how my shop time usually goes that might be spring of 2018...

Final design will be done in AutoCAD, but down and dirty is faster in SketchUp:



This gets me close enough material wise to figure out how much I need. Will be talking to my sales guy tomorrow to price it out. If Cana-Core is cheap enough I'll get materials right away, if not there's no big rush.

Lid from carbon fiber, balsa and foam should come in under 20 lbs. Main unit structure from honeycomb composite panel and aluminum will be close to 200 including door hardware and cab window. All up weight target, with pop-up canvas and gear, is 500 lbs.

Yes, needs to be able to sit below two kayaks and a paddleboard while in motion.

 

Do you guys know if the bed dimensions have changed at all between the Gen2 and Gen3 ?

 

I know it is slightly deeper on the 3rd gen (an inch?)

I know that folks have been buying the bed mats for the 2nd gen and they fit the 3rd gen perfect. So we can deduce that the basic floor dimensions are very similar.

Someone else may have more details, but that should give you a rough idea.

 

Sounds cool. I will keep an eye out on this one for sure, here is the solution I found for camping in the short bed.

 

I saw that in the caps thread (and in SEMA coverage). I think it's a pretty cool solution but I wonder how it'll do in a downpour and through heavy use?

Anyway, I didn't end up picking up materials just yet, Nida-Core is going to cost considerably less. Probably going to wait until late spring at the earliest to get started, shop's way too cold to start doing any major composite work anytime soon.
