It shows where your friends are on google maps. You can also log into your computer and see where your phone is. like if someone steals it.

its fully voluntary and you can disable it. I personally have nothing to hide and could care less if my friends know where i am..

For you guys with iphones though it wont run in the background so it will only update when you have google maps running

Knowing Seth he could prob hack tw and some how find me throw my ip adress on my iPhone!!
So I prob don't need it, right?!?!? Lol.
No I am still debating on it

 

i'm an intensely private person person so the idea of anyone (friends or family) being able to tell where i am gives me nightmares. but i could see using it yourself so you can track your phone if it is lost.

on a side note, it looks like google is trying hard to expand their business and keep up to date technology wise. good for them.
