Hey guys how's it going. I have a Toyota Tacoma 2014 I had for almost 2 years now and I think its time to start changing it up a bit. I am looking to raise it about 2 or so inches, nothing to tall. Was hoping some of y'all could give me some insight on what would be recommended for the lift. I am fairly new to modding up vehicles so be kind haha.

It's a DB Customz Grille. Picked it up in the Group Buy earlier this year with some Cube LED lights as well. Hit up @DBCustomzFab for the grille or visit his website. Got my lights from @SMKYTXN at Trail Toys. They did a group buy together and I got a killer price for the whole set up. Great guys to deal with and very helpful.

He has different designs you can choose from for the grille. Awesome product! Not too difficult to install either.

Prepare to open your wallet! What kind of lift are you wanting? Do you want to replace your entire suspension or retain the factory stuff? Is it OR or Sport? If it is OR or Sport then there's a ton of options for lift/level kits that are inexpensive and let you keep your factory ride and suspension. HOWEVER!!!!! there are many opinions in TW. Some will argue that if you lift your truck at all you should replace your suspension to compensate for the extended shocks/struts, difference in camber, etc.

I had the stealership install a ReadyLift 3"/2" lift/level kit and I was able to keep my stock suspension. I don't do heavy offroading nor am I concerned about extreme flexing. I just wanted a little better clearance getting around the fields and terrain when I go hunting.

ReadyLift has a good warranty, too ($265.00): http://www.amazon.com/Readylift-69-...d=1449083065&sr=8-2&keywords=readylift+tacoma

My Tacoma is a TRD Sport, I'm not looking to do hard core off-roading either. I'd like it to sit a bit higher for like you going a through cow fields and water beds that run through them. So a simple 2 or 3 inch lift would be just fine. I haven't really looked hard core as trying to get through the holidays before setting my wallet on fire. So any recommendations would be great. I'm thinking of just keeping the factory shocks and suspension as it won't be going under heavy stress. I do plan getting a hard cover for the truck bed so I know that would add additional weight to the rear.

If you're planning on going through water a lift kit is a secondary issue. Consider doing the rear diff mod. This is where you replace the rear diff breather valve with a hose and run the hose with a breather valve at the end to an area higher than the bottom of the bed. Many have used the small storage compartment in the bed or behind the tail light. There's several write ups on here to walk you through that. I haven't done it yet, but will probably do it next year. Simple and inexpensive ($50-ish for all parts), but will save you tons if you're going through water and contaminating your diff's fluids.
As for the lift, I love mine. The dealership actually has started installing these lifts on new, un-purchased Tacos because it's inexpensive and it has everything you need to perform the lift without replacing any factory suspension. It even includes the front diff-drop to reduce stress.
I was going to get a hard cover, but 1. I don't have anywhere to store it when not in use, 2. I use the truck bed a lot so it would be on and off constantly, and 3. it is heavy, too heavy for me to move myself. So I picked up a BesTop (pictured). It folds completely flat towards the cab so I can keep it on and fold it out of the way when I need more clearance. It also only weighs about 15 lbs. and removes with just a couple of pins so I can handle it myself. Downside is it is essentially a combination of a car convertible top and a tonneau cover. Works great above 65F degrees, doesn't stretch for anything below that. I want to keep it on during winter for the cargo, but if I EVER fold it down to get something big in there I will have to wait till spring to put it back up. Or find a heated garage to keep it in for a few hours to warm up.
