    I have searched and i cant find anything for the 1st gen on wheel spacing sorry if there is a thread on it already lol :(

    I am looking at getting the M/T Classic Locks for my 2000 TRD prerunner. I just dont know what backspacing i need or if they will even fit i want the 16x8.

    They might rub, but not positive about first gens offset and backspacing.

    Are you sure you don't mean lower? The higher the backspacing the more it moves the wheel in towards the suspension.

    No, the 4 should be fine. It will move the wheel further outside of the fender well and away from the suspension..

    I did not want that so i got the 17x9 with 4.5" back spacing

    Engage Offroad long travel front and rear with some fat tires.
    you may end up rubbing on the frame rails at full turn and articulation...

    stock backspace on 95-04 tacoma is 4.5"

    if you want to go bigger than 32s on a 16" wheel, 4" is ideal...
