same.. thats why I said class.. because I know you can take it.. after courts approval.

    yeah it is.

I had a period in my young and dumb time that, for certain reasons, I took the same defensive driving class 3 times.. within a couple months. The instructor actually remembered me, and by the 3rd time.. I slept through it. lol

I had a criminal speeding ticket here in az a few years ago.
Go to your fist court hearing plead not guilty they will then give you a plea agreement usually knockes it down to civil infraction I had to do a life skills class (was a 100pg workbook they sent me) an still had to pay criminal fines but it's not a misdemeanor on your record.

Too bad you couldn't of convinced the officer you had explosive diarrhea...

Even if you had to shit yourself in front of the cop it would've been better than a criminal speeding ticket.

Hoping that if I show up in my dress uniform and cry, maybe they will drop it all. Fingers crossed haha

Careful with that! I do know of one person who tried that and the judge handed him his ass. Of course the guy was up for assult & battery. I think the best policy is to just own up to the judge and be honest. Hopefully with your military record and the fact you just re-enlisted you will get lienency.

    Good luck buddy

You're still active duty right? If you are, call and let them know you're AD and out of state, sometimes it helps others, not so much so lol.

The worst part of this is I was in the back of the 3 guys who were trying to pass the trucks and I was the first to move to the left lane after passing the trucks. The other 2 fellas just kept speeding on by and didn't slow up for the cop.

This is the time to tell your girl, you need that SC kit so you could have kept up with the other two and wouldn't have gotten the ticket :p

Way back in the day, when I had my '03 I was stopped in Blythe going 100+ bringing my shit from my place in SoCal to AZ to store at my brother's place before deploying, cop hooked me up after I told him I was deploying in a month by knocking the ticket down to 85 I think.

Yeah I'm pretty sure this was a AZ Turkey Day travel sting and the cops were briefed prior to leaving that day that no one gets off easy.

FYI, for all you guys with the '16s, I guess the only option down the road for a SC kit is URD whenever they get around to it. Spoke with KraftWerks which also carries Rotrex but they aren't doing any kind of kits for Tacomas and deferred me to URD. Not gonna lie, getting blown off by URD twice makes me really not want to drop $6K+ with them.

If it was a speed trap, there is nothing the office could have done, he had already called your plate and speed into his Sgt. I have been on both sides of AZ DPS speed traps. I grew up in the plane and in the cars helping "get" people (FYI- Never buy red, it is true, police see them first). I also got one on my way to Ft. Bliss.

First, call the courts, be polite and humble, you screwed up, what can they do to help. BE HUMBLE, you screwed up! That goes a long ways with people working in the courts. See if there is anyway to get court approval, seeing you are on active duty (Might work if you are not stationed in the same court's jurisdiction).

Second, show up for court, do your BDUs if that's you regular uniform. Don't go in full dress, the judge might think you are showing off. Being subtle goes a long way. Talk to the court appointed lawyer and see what he says. If you do go to court, you will have court fees. The classes are usually very close in price to your ticket, you just don't get points license. Be prepared to pay the ticket in full on your court date, just in case (plus court fees).

Third, swing by JAG, doubt they have anything useful to say, but you never know.
