2 of the very annoying things Ive found in my first month of ownership.
First is the door handle lock, best innovation in a hundred years but for crying out loud couldnt they have put it on the passenger side too? WTF?
Next is theres no glove/console/lower door or under dash lights. Again WTF, I need to put more leds in so I can see or be seen at night.
Tailgate lock too but Ive seen the fix here. I bought my wife a Lexus for the same price and it has all the above.
Anyone know if the handles and dash lights can be added in to the existing harness and plugs? I was thinking of color matching a left hand handle for the right side.

Wow no one else has pet peeves ... LOL

Well I have similar ones: no glove box lights etc, tail gate lock NOT remote controlled, and ONLY 5 saved destinations allowed on the GPS Navigation unit. What if you go to more than 5 locations ... oh well, need to purchase separate GPS unit.

Next years Nav unit will primarily include crayola crayons.

    :annoyed:

as i have posted before the lid on the center consul opens up and to the rear and only opens to a straight up position. sitting in the drivers seat and trying to get something out of it is a pain, elbow/lid conflict. i have an idea how to make it lay back further to at least hit the rear seats when folded down but i can't figure out how to get the lid off????

This thread is my pet peeve

They don't put the unlocking passenger door handle because it's a carjacking liability

I did not like the fact that I would open the driver's door and then have to push the unlock button on the door or remote to open the pass door and rears... You don't... I set it so that when the driver's door is touched, all doors unlock... Works for me...

    Go into "settings" "vehicle"....

Also stopped that dumb "auto door lock"..!!

So yeah, that's probably my biggest pet peeve! Hate having to dig out my keys if I approach from passenger side to put groceries in etc. Also, no handle on drivers side. Very pleased with the truck otherwise

I think they expect you to remember how to get somewhere after driving there with guidance. Man card, hand it in. :poking::D

VV This. Our T4R has it on the driver's side too so it's not an issue of liability.

Thats a dumbest reason I ever heard! The sensor only works when the key is within 2 feet and if the fob is in the car it doesnt work

To be fair.. she has a Lexus, not the lesser brand of Toyota that you have - cost be damned.

Toyota is an entry level/mid level brand, with entry level/mid level features.

The 15 Colly I traded in and the crew cabs also had only a drivers door lock. It saves the car company money.

Not enough space between steering wheel and seat (vertical) makes it hard to get into the driver seat

Stupid bright ass orange JBL sticker just below the display looks like a warning light out of there corner of my eye.

The hood scoop grill feels like extremely cheap plastic when you touch it (creaks and moves a little), such as when washing the truck.

Sunroof controls are angled so the driver can barely see them.

ECT button is in an odd location down low on the console. Seems like this should be a steering wheel button.

Cabin lights coming on whenever I walk by the truck with the FOB in my pocket.

Near useless center console storage space.

And the worst of all: it's too damn sexy looking, and I'd prefer to just admire it from the outside rather than actually drive it sometimes!

Looks like that's one of the few options that has to be changed by the dealer and can't be done on the radio. They must've turned mine off because I've never had it come on and the default setting is ON.

Agreed. It's downright anorexic compared to the one in my 2nd gen.

Do you need to know, or care?
I only have one, side mirror defrosters are garbage. They take forever to defrost, so back to scrapping again.
