Hey guys so i have a 2001 toyota tacoma and when im on the freeway between 70 and 80 MPH at about 2500 RPM (just barley on the gas) my truck will lose power. like the motor is almost not even on and it will be backfiring. then when i hit the gas harder to try and bring the truck back to life i can here my engine rev up but the truck dos not accelerate. then all of a sudden the truck will regain power and start pulling harder. when i pull off the freeway after the truck has been doing this and come to a stop the truck will idle very ruff and die if i do not rev it up. then after i drive at slow speeds on the streets for a couple minuets it will not backfire or lag that i can notice. i have had this problem for a while now it is intermittent so it will do it for a few weeks then it will drive fine for a month or so then start acting up again randomly.
i have already swapped my gas tank, changed fuel filter, replaced coil packs, replaced cat and Replaced o2 sensor any input would be great thanks guys

I would check the plug wires myself, but to each their own.

One can never have too many light bars.
I had a problem like this with my old frontier. It wouldn't go north of about 2300RPM and I couldn't get it over 70. I took it in and they replaced a chip in the transmission computer for free and it fixed the problem.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Check and replace brittle or cracked vacuum lines and make sure the egr system is functioning correctly. That's all I can give ya! Good luck.
