One can never have too many light bars.
Cardinals had the rally squirrel in 2011 when they won it. There always seems to be a theme in playoff runs all sports. As much as it doesn't physically effect the game it really sort of does in a awesome atmospheric way. Can't explain it but its awesome.

The Angels still outhit the Giants in the series. Looking at the rosters, I'm not sure how they did it. Bonds was absolutely on fire that series and entire postseason.

Giants fans will forever remember the name "Scott Spezio."

Actually, it was Bakers removal of Ortiz that caused the loss of Game 6, and the Series. He pulled a healthy Ortiz for a weak, and beat up bullpen. Bullpen blew the lead, and the Series went to Game 7, and a re-invigorated Angels team steamrolled them. Baker threw out a rookie to start Game 7. I've never like Baker since. And he's not succeeded since. Dumbass Nationals just hired him to mismanage that team.

Play all the word games you want. World Series winner = Better Team. The better team finds a way to win.

Livan Hernandez started game 7 for the Giants. He wasn't a rookie, not even close. The Angels started a rookie, John Lackey.

You look at what a club does over a season and the talent on the roster, and you get a better idea of how good they are and which team is better. This, of course, isn't always what brings home the trophy. That would be winning in October, over a much shorter timeframe. Playing good when it counts is more important, but the better team doesn't always win.

I stand corrected on the Starter. I was mixing up my seasons. Salomon Torres was who I was thinking about. He was thrown into starting in the final game of the season in 1993, against the Doyers. Giants lost, finishing the season with 103 wins. Braves won 104.

I still hold to the World Series winner = Best. You can postulate, speculate, and prognosticate, but a Winner is still the Best. Look in the Record Books. You'll see the list of Winners.

What the hell are my Braves doing? Trading Simmons? Best defensive shortstop in the MLB, imo. No offense to you @Don5352 and Brandon Crawford. Granted, the kids they traded for seem to be good pitchers, but you got to have someone to pick the ball when it's hit. Really aggravated right now. Have a nice day guys.

The Braves were the winner in that trade. They received two prospects and a SS who can actually hit, unlike Simmons.

I like the prospects except for the fact Newcomb "has a cannon arm but no control". So, strikeout to walk ratio should be pretty even, which is not good. Don't know the other. We get Aybar for one year. And, if we get some players that can hit, it's worth keeping a guy that can pick the ball like he can. I'd rather have a defensive shortstop than a offensive one. And, a .275 career average, while decent, isn't impressive enough to overcome Simmon's glove. And his OBP is .315, whish is below average.

Sources are saying that the Marlins are close to a deal with Bonds to hire him as a hitting coach.

7 years and 217m is absolutely ridiculous. Although he has his opt out at 3 years.

This should bring Grienke to 32m for 5/6 years. No way Grienke wants less than Price.
