    ^^ that's what has me concerned about the defenders. They're saying they have 10% longer tread life. And are tougher than the MS2. I just stopped by a local shop and the guy say Michelin is phasing out the MS2 and replacing them with the defender. Ha now wondering which way to go. Only a handful of reviews on tire rack so far.

    There was a group of crazy tricked out truggy type rigs up there that day. If I remember right, that one was a caged, pre-tacoma toyota truck. They flopped him back over and he kept at it.

    I'd like to see some photos of MS2's on stock suspension. Please also give the size. I'm still tossing and turning about what size to get. Pics would be much appreciated! Currently running 245-75-16. I know I'm going to move to 265, but don't know yet if I'll go 70 or 75.

    My dad has some
    On his first Gen. They are 265/70/16's. If you don't care that it's a first Gen happy to take it for you and post.

    Nope I looked at them two days ago while going to lowes with him. I thought god those tires look huge on that little first Gen (TRD OR) and then when I saw what size they were I was surprised they used it.

    After driving on these for awhile, any comments you can make about the 75 vs the 70? Still wishing you had the 70's? I'm about to spring for them. Need to make a decision by 8pm to get the $70 rebate.

    i just ordered 265/70/16 AT-2's.

    my current Michelin all seasons from Costco have performed beyond my expectations. i have 66,000 miles on them and can keep going. BUT..i hate fixing flats roadside, so the cost of new now is acceptable. i mostly drive highway and get fantastic MPG. i use my truck in snow, dirt and considerable mud when i go hunting and the X-radials blew my mind..i didnt pick those, my wife just bought them. i wanted to hate them and their street-looks..but damn.

    i hope my LTX AT-2 come close..i have a brutal AZ hunting trip coming, and i climb some tough trails. but even that trip..99% of the driving is on the highway there. mpg is kinda important to me.

    You may want to look at the M/S2 / Defender m/s as well. Hypoxic has done some crazy awesome trails on his M/S2's. He's running A/T2's now but as he mentioned only to throw in some variety he had no issueswith the MS2's. Apparently they get better gas mileage but the AT2's sound like awesome as well. The decision of one over the other has just driven me insane.

    I'm currently on 265/65/17's giving serious consideration to doing the 70's and going with the E load Defender M/S's. Was gonna go A/T2 but as someone mentioned that rocks are just like pavement and these things excel on the rocks. Given my desire to go off road but keep the on road comfort and gas mileage etc I'm 99% sure the M/S is the way to go.

    yea..i am known to overthink a purchase to death..Costco has both the At2 and the MS2..i cant imagine either one of them sucking..
    my main goal was to buy a proven Michelin product. my current tire is lasting so long it's unnerving..i typically wont let a tire sit on my truck more than 6-7 years.. i tried the four season before, now i'll try the all-terrain (still listed as four season on costco website). as far as all terrains go, the AT-2 are pretty understated. pretty anemic looking for an AT tire.

    this wont be my last tire..next time, ill try the MS2 or MS3 or whatever is out then.

    Yes they are anemic looking but seriously go look at Hypoxics build thread. That dude has gone places I'd never even dream of going all on MS2, and AT2's. Costco also has the Defender MS. if you're unnerved with your present tires lasting so long these went up to a 90,000 mile warranty!!!! 90k miles. I mean that's crazy huge.

    I just had a set of Defender LTX M/S tires put on this morning, 265/70/16, finally replacing the stock Rugged Trails on my 2010 DC after 56K miles. They look great and seem quieter so far. Got them at Discount Tire for $764 OTD after the $100 rebate. Starting out at 32 psi all around vs. the 29 psi that shows as the default pressure for my truck according to their paperwork. Not sure if I'm going to get an alignment or not. Might not need one because the Rugged Trails were wearing pretty evenly.

    ARB bullbar, smittybuilt 9.5k ,255/85/16 Cooper ST, Body Armor Rear bumper with tire carrier, Billy 5100 with OME 885 and 2 inch AAL, Toolbox, bed mounted High Lift with All Pro mounts.
    I ended up with P245/75r16 in MS2. Is your 70 series also P-rated? Also interested in pics to see what I may have missed out on.
