When I had the bed rack/RTT off the other day and had not put the canopy back on yet, I still only used the side mirrors. Looking out the rear view mirror was just odd.

In a previous lifetime (meaning...quite a few years ago) I drove delivery trucks for a number of years. You can and do get used to not having good side visibility.

In my extracab, those side windows do not help one bit. You learn to use your side mirrors a lot more. Is there a large blind spot, hell yeah. But I never allow another vehicle to sit in it for very long. You just adapt your style for the new situation. You will get used to it.

 

Yea spin the tire with a paint pen for a line and measure front and back on the line for the toe. Mine is .25" toe in and works well. I recently got longacre toe plates and its quicker and more accurate but not totally needed. Make sure you measure roughly the same distance up the tire front and back.

 

It's not driving that gets me. That's fine. I am very aware of drivers around me on the road. The exception may be motorcycles as they are quick to sneak up...but they are morons for sitting in a blind spot. It's really just backing up, not much to do but go slow and listen and look for lights. I still want a back up camera some day...probably before I have to leave Laramie and live in a bigger city. For now I just park a bit farther away or get out of the truck real quick to get familiar with whats near me.

 

Tried to order new mirrors tonight from a member on here. $45 for the mirrors, $156 for the shipping haha. Something isn't right.

That's a nice savings at 40$ a tire. Yea there's probably an on-center "numb" zone for sure. I notice it when I put the snow tires on the fiesta which are a scosche wider than the summer tires. Doesn't help either that the winter tires are super gummy

Stager them. Do wider in the rear. If done right I think it looks best too.

For anyone interested. I started a group buy for Dirt Designs shock bucket top bracket for an engine cross over bracket. still waiting to hear if this will work with 1st gens. Bolt pattern may be the same for the top hat.

No! Mine turns fine. Frank however, well, lets just say it eventually comes around.

 

I dont like staggered wheels. It looks good but you lose the ability to rotate tires which on a street driven car is a downside imo.
