I would take it back to the tire shop first. Ask them to rebalance the tires.

Rotate and balance and take a look at alignment specs. I'd grab an add a leaf, and have someone handy install it if I were you. I've had bf goodrich mt km2's on all my 4wd rigs. I rotate and balance all the time, but always get a shake, they wanna dig. I bet it's nothing serious.

I ran those sane ToyoMTs on a jeep. Those are some heavy ass 10 ply tires. They hummed at 35-40mph.
Unless you feel like you can't live w/o that mud tire, I'd think of swapping them for an AT. Toyo makes one called AT2. Schwab sells them.
Which Puyallup store did you go to?
Was that a 2" spacer leveling kit?

And taking a ton of :crapstorm: in the process. Because, not one of us ever went to the store, asked for what we wanted, and got hosed by the "experts". I don't think this is your fault. Not everyone is a Tacoma World knowledge stud-muffin. I hope it works out for you.

Anyway, props for taking the abuse and not loosing your cool. The info's out there, you just have to sift through the, uhm, other stuff.

One of the friendliest people on Miata.net was from Puyallup. A lot of weird stuff happens there for some reason.

For no reason at all, here's a emoticon of a pickle with an afro. I have no idea why. Maybe it's supposed to be broccoli? Anyway, he's so happy he's dancing. Just like you will be when you get your truck all sorted.

I did a ton or research and I still would change how I level/lifted my truck. research is no substitute for experience. I experienced first had the sound of large mud tires years ago. Luckily I bought them used and sold them a week later so my loss was mounting/balancing/unmounting.

I consider my truck a project and with that I don't mind not getting things completely right from the get go. I skimmed through the thread but I gather you don't like the lift (too high in the front) and tires. the too high lift can be fixed a ton of easy and fun ways by lifting the rear. the tires... cut ties exchange them or sell them on craigslist and get a more on road tire.

good luck and don't get too wrapped around the axle. consider it a project and take the next step to get what you want.

    2" spacer.

They are really nice and helpful but now say they hear it but can't figure it out.

    To the dealer I go.

Simple, just measure how high you want the rear to be, and install some blocks or add-a-leafs in the rear to raise it where u want...done!:)

What did you find out at the shop? I have a kit on mine with 285/70/17's. I also hear a vibration at 30mph. intermittent but can also feel it in the wheel. Not a big vibration but annoying to say the least. If i put it in 4H it goes away. Wondering if the differential is not dis engaging or something. Just wondering what you have found out. I believe mine is a 3" in the front and 2" in the back. To me i looks like it now rakes in the front. Anyone else hearing anything after the lift?

Throw an add a leaf in the rear but without the rear shim.
I'm removing my rear leaf shims Friday and get a little bit of a bro lean going.

I hope you get this all figured out OP. Lot's of good info on TW, but also a lot of annoying posters that don't add any valuable info.
You just have to filter whats useful and learn how to use the ignore button. :)

Yeah man, your fine. Put an add a leaf in the rear at the shop while they look for the vibration.

I think most people have covered it, but the 2016's do have a lot less rake than older models.

An 2006-2013 leveling kit was around 1.5", the new 2016's have a little more front end lift so a 1" lift should be all you need to level it.

I would complain they sold you a leveling kit that did not level the truck, and either:

    A) Demand a 1" front spacer to replace the 2" at their cost.
    B) A reduced shop price to install a 1" rear block to level it back out.

You asked for a level truck and it isn't, seems like it is their fault they ordered the wrong product.
