I am finishing my master's degree thesis/research paper. One of the requirements is to conduct primary research. If you could hit my 12 question survey, it would be greatly appreciated. It's based on workplace violence and it's completely anonymous.

    Done,

Obviously your paper is on work place violence, but whats your point? Prevention or helping those who have experienced work violence?

    I'm merely being curious.

The paper covers a lot more ground than the primary research covers, but the basic premise is that employers have a civil, and possibly even criminal, level of liability for making reasonable efforts to prevent workplace violence. In addition, the paper covers the practical, profit driven reasons for investing in violence prevention in the workplace; i.e. retaining valuable employees and preferences of customers for businesses that value safety.

I completed it. I teach at a high school and we had a full lock down last year due to threats of injury and death to several staff and students. I can't say much else about it but I answered based on that information and how I felt after the incident.

Our school site is not a business, but the district level is, so I do believe it is their obligation to make it safe and to inform us of what they are doing to keep us safe.

During my teacher credentialing, we were told to flee instead of fight in all situations of violence or the threat of violence... but if anyone ever threatens to harm any of my students, I will NOT be fleeing. Every real teacher I have talked about this with has said the same.

Earlier this year. That's the active duty life, couple years here, couple years there. I have a love/hate relationship with moving all the time, that's for sure.
