Toytec vs Sway-A-Way coilovers

So I want coilovers to replace my spacers, i have and Ive been looking at the toytec coilovers for $700 But 4 wheel parts owe mes a favor and said they can get me Sway-A-Way 2.0 coilovers for $600 flat http://www.swayaway.com/VehicleMake_4.php Which ones should i go with. I need a full 3'' of lift which i know the toytecs do but i really have no information on the sway-a-ways. any experience anyone? Which one!?

plus, don't forget about how often you need to rebuilt the SAWs.

I guess you have to ask yourself, what are you doing with your truck? going to work, or 4wheeling on rocks?

We had the same experience with the toytecs over the mod day weekend. IMHO the design is pretty poor. The spanners bent very easily. Part of the problem is the threaded sleeve rests on the 5100 c-clip. It is not attached to the shock. this means you have to use two spanners to turn them. you need to hold the sleeve to keep it from spinning while you adjust the large nut. We also installed a set of Icons the same day. the design was far superior. The threaded collar part is on the top and attached to the hat that bolts to the coil bucket and holds it firmly in place to allow you to just turn one nut. The SAWs are a similar design. We ended up having to take the toytecs apart so we could relieve the pressure from the spring and adjust every thing by hand. IMHO they are no better than just buying standard 5100s and adding the eibach spring. Unless you want the fine adjustability for the taco lean in that case you should make sure to get them set where you want the first time you install them.

 

All our adjustable coilovers use a 600lb spring!! (except for the new tundra's, they use a 700# coil)

Those 620's you see on the group buy, are NOT what we use in our coil over. That's just a new spring we are selling separately.

I just want to make sure he has the accurate information about the c/o's.

 

I have the SAWs and they are pretty sweet, i would definetly recomend them, they are a little stiff set at 2.5 which is what i left mine at but it was still quite a bit better ride than stock.

Also, am i correct in saying that the toytecs arent rebuildable?

Been riding on my Sway 2.0 since Nov 07...still no rebuild granted mine is on road, low miles prolly 10k since my 02 has 58000 miles on the odo and it is always cleaned and recoated with anti rust so the coilovers looks new but I am in Nor Cal so all I see is rain no snow, sand...

 

have had my SAW's on since late '05 and no rebuild and they ride really nice at 2.5" for my prerunner. Not too much offroading just when I go hunting or fishing...
