Yes. That's the answer. Sounds like you've already made up your mind and you are trying to find someone to talk you out of it. You don't need our permission. Make it happen!!

Ha-ha, yea I was 60/40 more in favor of it. You're right though, its not going to hurt and we will be in there anyways.

I just had a talk with another close friend that deals in DMZ products. Turns out DMZ makes a plate set for the 2nd gen where its notched to connect to the frame and doesn't require a full line of weld on the top and bottom of the frame. They are not on the website but these are the ones I'm going to order along with set of extended brake lines.

Thanks for all of your input everyone! Now to finish selling a few things and paying for the rest. We are hoping for a Feb install time.

I will document all work we do at that time in my build.

Jon, when you find more out about those DMZ plate sets please let us know. Getting ready to tear into mine and wouldn't mind adding some for that "just in case" thinking.

I called Tim at DMZ and he has been selling the frame kit for around 300. It doesn't require a ton of welding and you can still retain the factory cross members.
He did say you can remove those members and weld in your own as well as adding additional plating where the OEM cross members were if you cut them out.

When I get home on my WiFi I'll dig through the builds on DMZs site and see if I can find one. Tim hasn't added the kit to the site just yet.

@jeffz0rz also sells a plate kit. He posted some pics in my build about 3 or 4 posts back.

I'm currently running 35s, and looking to get more clearance and travel. I plan on prepping the truck for LT and 37s but thats the end goal or SAS. For now, i wanted to do the cab mount relocation, a little more tubbing and the shock mount relocation for a 12inch shock. As I'm in Canada is there anyone that i can buy everything from in one shot that has it all ? The shipping costs and duty coming up this way is simply outrageous

Well DMZ can do a SUA kit and leafs as well as Total Chaos can do a SUA kit and a +3 kit for the front. You will still need to go to DSM for shocks or any of the other vendors.
I would figure out what you want to do 1st. All Pro has a SAS kit I believe. There was another builder on here somewhere that was putting together a SAS kit awhile ago.

Not sure where in Canada but I know Pelfreybilt has a distributor in Canada and they sell Total Chaos, etc...

not looking for a 3+, trails are to narrow here for that. It would be a 2+ kit and most likely buying second hand. I would also not be going SUA due to the clearance issues/
