    just had the Access Rollup Cover installed. fits better than the 2012 we had, but one issue is, the tail gate hits the rear of the cover when closing the tailgate. pics after installed ...

    Shouldn't matter. Bed is basically the same and that website you referenced also shows the Gen2 with cleats not working but, apparently this guy is doing it

    What I meant was there is conflicting info. Seems like a '16 owner should have possession soon so we can get confirmation on cleat use.

    Love the way it looks and the security. Not totally waterproof. Talking to extang to see if it's warranty worthy. Otherwise I will be modifying it to stop the minor seepage. Will post more pictures if you guys want.

    I thought about it but didn't like how it looked overhanging. It seems like it isn't enough coverage on the rails but I have gotten zero leakage from the rails, only from the hinges, which I am going to modify a little.

    This one doesn't do that. I will take more pictures demonstrating. I would just take it off because it takes less than 5 minutes.

    The hard cover I mentioned and the Extang Solid Fold 2.0 both come off by releasing the 2 front and rear handles. No rails. The cover just sits on the bed rails.

    My main requirement was hard and something that could be taken off easily so I could put a cap on for camping. All the solid fiberglass were too expensive and not really removable. I really don't like the leather ones, but that is just a preference thing for me.

    I hear you but that only works to me if you plan ahead of leaving that you are going to remove the cover. I can't tell you how many times we went out and picked up or moved something and all I have to do is roll mine up. To each there own I always say. That is why they make all the different types of covers

    So by hitting the tail gate means you need to lift the cover a bit when closing the tail gate? It seems there is no restriction to the bed cleats correct?

    tailgate hitting the cover, due to the cover being about 1/4" too long. cant really lift the end to close the gate due to the way its installed.

    slight reduction on travel on the oem sliding cleats, but you can see you can move them to the very end. the mounts are static since the holes in the mounting rails are pre-drilled. I imagine if you wanted to drill a new hole closer to the end of the oem channel for the cleats you would get more travel.

    from what I can tell the rear lip is about 1/4" too long, but that might be due to mis alignment on install (btw I had the dealer install it). its not a deal breaker since I can still close the gate but it does hit the lip of the cover when closing.

    the amount of times I actually open the gate during the year, its a minor point (maybe 7-9 times a year)

    Thanks. I was leaning towards the Lo Pro but, the lower cost and greater access/use of the bed cleats has changed my mind and I will get the Access cover. Quality seems similar with the only advantage of the Lo Pro being their sliding Velcro/auto tension which is nice.

    Just got off the phone with TruXedo and they told me you can use the sliding cleats with the Lo Pro QT on the 2016 Tacoma's. You can order from online vendors and the covers will be sent straight from the factory next week.
    Not to mention every part on the TruXedo Lo Pro QT is guaranteed for LIFE. And made in South Dakota.
