Very true . . . . except in this case Toyota is building and selling several hundred Tacomas a day so the ratio is probably more like 1000:1.
I've got about 2000 miles on my DCSB TRD4wd.

Hey, I still got mine. 292k. Reliable as f*ck, but a dog nonetheless

I would happily buy one today. I have lots of problems with my first gen, part of owning a vehicle. Still love my truck though

Yea, I agree with that phrase. Unless bigger and more expensive counts as style. ;)

I wish mine had a 1,000 miles on it. I don't like breaking it in during winter. Mine has 369 miles on it now. And I like the truck better than the 15 Colly with the V6 I traded in 3 weeks ago.

Plan a little road trip this coming weekend and you'll be all done. No reason to stay home, or to fret.

Especially now that Stanford has helped clear up part of the playoff picture. :D

Winter shouldn't have anything to do with it; it will come up to full operating temp just fine. That's what T stats are for!

ROFL .... DAMN stupid 5 presets ... LOL ... I have used them up already and replaced some ... taking Taco in on Wednesday to change oil rotate tires and then see if I can make the Service Manager groan when I "whine" about the ONLY 5 preset spots....

On another note does anyone have info/stats of how many Tacos have been manufactured to the amount that have had problems? If we scour the 3rd gen forum ... how many Tacos have problems? 50, 60 ... 100 .... how many produced from the 2 factories since September?... how many not reported on this forum? If there were any major issues the news would have it. If only a few hundred have minor things with 10s of thousands produced ... the stats may not be bad ... I am not sure...but many people seem to love their new truck.

I am hoping this shutdown problem gets fixed quick so he can enjoy his new truck!

I'm hoping it gets fixed quick. Stopped by the dealership yesterday to see if they had any firm arrival date for the design engineers. Nothing firm other than it will be Wednesday or Thursday. I'm gonna stay on em like stink on &*$t and hope this thing gets taken care of properly and efficiently. Enjoyed the truck when it was running and hope to be enjoying it again by next week at the latest. I will keep everyone updated.

This forum has convinced me to wait till when the 2017's are out for awhile to see if the issues have been addressed. Still want a Tacoma again. But there is no hurry.

Just get a 16, strap in for the ride, and all the things will be fixed by time the 17's are out, and you'll be a year into paying it off already

It will be a cash purchase unless Toyota offers 0%.

While I did recently sell my 06 Tacoma, my 09 Ram only has 49K on it. So no hurry. I just like the mid size truck better.

Engineers should be at the dealership to go over my truck tomorrow. Hope they can get to the bottom of this. I really hate having a brand new truck sitting at the dealership for repairs for the same amount of time I had it in my driveway.

There's gotta be a code stored. Get it scanned.

The dealership pulled some codes and that is what started the whole thing with Toyota sending in the big boys to come look at everything. The dashboard looked like a Christmas tree with all the warning lights and the in dash screen scrolling through all the messages to check the brake system, abs system control, cruise control, and engine. It sure doesn't leave a warm fuzzy feeling.

Yeah, looking forward to hearing the cause and solution! If they take longer than you'd like, tell them to keep the car, and take a new one!

I'm only at 2200 miles but I hope you and I are within the 98 percentile of 2016 owners that will not have these issues.
