The first adventure the day after purchased was up West Mountain next to Utah Lake

A dirt road I could have done with my Venza with side roads I could now only do with the Tacoma.
Plus I could do the regular road about 2-3 times faster... which is important.

Haha well I wouldn't reject that.
Toyota makes a great product but their marketing hasn't been amazing in years past... In my experience Toyota has never been the most Social Media minded company... I have had Ford and Jeep share or comment on my pictures of friends vehicles more than the Toyota Venza pictures I took for years.
But maybe that's because they didn't care about the Venza and have let it die. So we'll see what they do about the Tacoma Pics I'll be taking each week.

Late yesterday I took a couple friends a few hours into the western Utah desert to a place called Notch Peak.
Really need a shell so I can sleep in the back at these places and not have to drive home or use a tent.

It has already been said, but worth repeating: nice pics!

Did you already tear off a step on each side? Seems to be some asymmetry going on there.

Hey I love sharing the pictures... so as long as people enjoy them I'll keep coming sharing.

As for the steps... yep, quite quickly in fact. I told the dealer I didn't want the steps because they wouldn't last, but they said it came with them so I had to take them... I was surprised at just how horribly weak they were, they didn't even live up to my super low expectations. Welding job was super bad... like vice-grips could have removed them bad.
But I'll keep them on until I can decide what sliders to get.

Where did you get those horizontal bars for your roof? I'm sure this is the incorrect lingo lol

That is the stock rack... the bars move to the sides when not in use... it is a great setup from the factory. Just go the the parts department and order the roof rack. Easy to install. There is a thread on that here somewhere... and yes, same part number as the 2nd-gen racks

Look into Softopper. It's a canvas shell, and conveniently folds up to the rear of the cabin. Opens up quickly and easily. A buddy has one on his Taco and loves it. I'm planning on getting one for camping.
