    Yeah, the droop factor is amazing...... But the uptravel is absolute shit without a 3" lift...... Total bumpstop nightmare too.

    Thanks Brock. Thanks for chiming in. I don't want bumpstop nightmares. lol

    I'm gonna have to be careful with my setup. I assembled my own leaf pack. So I think no matter what, I'm gonna have to do the disconnect shock, measure droop and compression bit.

    This is an old pic from my install day. Dakar leaf pack with
    $77 D29XL Leaf Spring
    D29XL AAL, but overload removed and a 3* axle shim.

    . Yeah....... I tested them a long ass time ago per Marco and Sonny suggested. I had tons of droop, and the truck used this droop up off-road and drove like a freaking caddy over bumps on road too.
    Problem was I woulda bottomed out the shock wayyyyyyyy before I got close to the stops..... Like a good 2"!

    The uptravel was shit with my..... Tsb pack, icon progressive pack, minus overload. I'd seriously have to weld a strike pad on the frame about two inches tall.

    But the ride was cush...... Till I did bottom out one day it sucked balls and was just a lil ditch.

    Truth be told, the stock dampers are too short for a stock truck even.... I'm surprised more ppl don't get the top out "clunk" bone stock.

    Throw in the tsb pack, and its totally fubar.... Marco even agreed back in the day when he was at dsm

    But if you relocated the shock tower you could avoid bottoming out and not have to get big ass bumpstops

    ^^^^ This is the reason why I am not doing the shackle flip kit. I was chasing a problem I didn't have other than in my head. A properly tuned shock and utilizing all the travel that is available and properly 'tuned' bump - Stay within the limits of the front suspension. :)

    Those are All-Pro and I painted them red. They're made with 9/16" rod. They're stout and I like them a lot. Yeah the bumps are Wheelers super bumps. I hated to pay so much for bump stops, but they really are worth it.

    Well, I don't know what I will do for bumps when I go through the rear. Right now I am on the Timbrens so early that the valving I have in my rear shocks could have been done with feathers!!! lol I want to say they most all are at .006" thick in compression stack. I have not video taped them while out romping - I should have. The thing about the Timbrens, I think they were intended to hit a striker that was flat as to create a pneumatic trap, not just a elastomer bump. The point that it strikes on our frame is concave so no air is trapped. Any way, I will give you a heads up when my head gets wrapped around this whole thing.

    Thanks for elaborating further. That makes sense. Your post reinforces my plan of measuring before buying anything.

    On the stock stuff, I ran the Toyota TSB leaf pack for about 50K miles. I never had any real issues with it, but the truck was a lot lighter back then and I didn't push it too hard, except when I had to. :D

    That's true. But relocating the shock tower can be it's own can of worms like being forced to run wheel spacers when you think you didn't have to.
