Like I said in my earlier posts, TSB is great but I called BS on a v6-v8 replacement. Either way, glad it's done. Can we all get along???:D

I never doubted you for a moment 5Sport! Thanks for the info! Once I get the fix done, I can go ahead with some mods that I have been holding off on because I was so disgusted with the tranny issues! Cheers!

This is hilarious man!! I thought I was the only one who felt this way.. I also had a huge list of things I wanted to do when I first got my truck but the damn tranny was so horrible, I didn't feel ilke doing any of them.. I honestly thought I wasn't going to hold onto the truck very long because of it... Now, after having the TSB done for a few days, its like having a new truck and Im already planning on some mods I was hoping to get done when i first picked up the truck.. Im a very happy camper right now..

I just returned from Lexington Toyota after having the TSB 0373-09 perform and so far it works great. I didn't drive too far as I had to return to work but so far it is 95% better then it was. Glad I checked this forum before I took it to the dealer.

I took mine by the dealer, they won't be able to look at my truck until tomorrow. They are trying to give me the "we need you to reproduce the problem" run around. I don't understand why they can't take a customers word for what it is, especially when you show them a TSB for the known problem.

I have a feeling im going to get the same run around, which is a royal pain. Im hoping that i or someone around where i live has some luck finding a decent dealership that will do it.

I wanted to followup and tell everyone that after having driven my Truck for the last 3 days I am very impressed with the new performance of the transmission between 1-2 gears. I strongly encourage anyone who has an '09 to have this done. I am very happy with it. I even called my SA and let them know how happy I was.

Now for a bit of humor. I capped this picture while waiting at the dealer.

Wow 3 weeks that's crazy! It takes like 30-60 mins. Are they that busy?

Just had this TSB done on mine today at 3PM.

They have to reset the learning parameters, so the truck shifts a little more often right after you have the flash done. It's re-learning your driving style, should go away after a day or two.

The good news: I was completely unable to get the tranny to slip or hang on the way home. Never had the transmission stall when getting back on the throttle after coasting at low speed (below 15mph). They seem to have figured out where to put the shift points to keep the truck in the power band's sweet spot. The first light out of the dealership I was coasting up to a red light that went green, a textbook case of where I'd get a stall before. I got on the pedal solid, sort of cringing and expected a rev-n-lurch, but instead there were two crisp, rapid upshifts and smooth acceleration. Kudos Toyota, but about damn time.

FWIW, the tech that verified the problem with me told me he was glad Toyota finally got this thing out. He said they'd been calling the tech line for 3 months when getting this complaint over and over again and the whole time Toy was promising they were working on it. Said he's glad to have a solution to offer people now.

Let us know how it works out for you. I would be interested to see if your dealership performs the TSB. I'm thinking that the Canadian dealerships will be lagging behind to receive the bulletins.

Also anxiously awaiting the first confirmation of a Canadian Taco getting the TSB! I haven't had the chance to stop by my dealer yet but I'll try within the next week or so to see if they have it available.

I had mine done today. The lag seems to be gone. The places where it had done it, did not do it today. So it looks like it worked. I'm glad that I, as well as others, did not listen to those that said it was "normal", because it was clearly not. However, at my dealer what sucked is that I was there for 3 hours with an appt. I was the first to be done at my dealership.
