I need the brackets bent down and extended enough to nicely clear the bottom and sides of.... let's say an ARE cap with flip up side windows. Is this possible? I'd like to mount lightbars front and rear and also to use it as a roof rack. What's the cost?

I like that... a lot. Inside the bed at the front would be nice. Is it stackable with additional baskets?

 

Not really stackable.

 

I also have an Access cover (limited) and am trying to figure out if this (or any of the other Voodoo goodies) will work. I installed the bed cover a while back and I'm under the impression that they wont fit because access uses a spacer from the inside of the bed to behind the factory rail making the width between the left and right sides narrower. from what i can tell the Voodoo accessories are a fixed width.

Can anyone confirm that there is no spacer from the factory behind the rail? i'm drawing a blank. OR is anyone running any of the accessories with an access cover

 

I appreciate your enthusiasm! I'd like to be able to build a framework in flat stock (thanks to you) instead of round tube to fit over the cap. It would give me a place to install light bars and alley lights and have a roof rack. In addition I'd like brackets that would bolt on to the sides of an ARB front bumper and act as take off points for an additional frame work (roof height) over the engine compartment to complete a full truck length rack. Crazy, I know.

 

I went to lowes today, and bought a piece of 3/16" steel to do some testing if this will fit with my cover. that steel is thicker than I imagined. You must have a serious bender to bend these up. I plan on heating it up with a blowtorch, and beating it over in a vise with a hammer to put a 90 degree bend in the piece.

 

We can bend up to 1/2".

 

Parts being cut early next week.

There is a company in Ontario Canada called Hodgson Custom Rolling. They have a 6,000 ton brake press that can form 20" thick steel.

I've seen it in person, and it is incredible.

 

Wow thats nuts, we have an oldschool brake at our shop, we can bend quarter with 3 guys on it. but its a royal pain. Unfortunately we dont bend enough steel to justify getting a new one.

 

I just looked through their brochure. That I beam roller is freaking sweet!

 

The whole place is insane. When you go though it it just keeps going and going and going.

Oddly enough, it's located like a mile from a really nice "gentlemens club". But I wouldn't know anything about that....
