Not until after this weekend. I'm squat-assed right now, and need to put the 3rd leaf back into my Dakar pack. Just say no to bro!

Considering getting a shell, any recommendations for brand? Any easier to work with then others? Any with the track already built in?

I unfortunately don't sell the tracks. Amazon is probably the cheapest and most convenient option. You shouldn't have an issue with the curve, maybe a couple washers to shim the mounting feet but probably not even that.

I personally am a fan of Leer. Never have liked ARE cause most of their models don't wrap/overhang the bedsides. Snug top used to be a little better but leer has kind of caught up with them on a lot of features but snug top is still a little more expensive.

You can get any model with the tracks pre installed, it's an option from the factory. Used shells it is hit and miss.

I bought a Snug Top Pro with windoors and tracks installed. Fit/finish are very good, but expensive at just under 3k. The tracks were installed without sufficient thought to heavy loads, so I reinforced them with 4 additional thru bolts. My shell has a radius front to back, but a few washer shims and I was good to go.

Is there a clean way to mount a 30" bar and a set of pods on the back of your rack?

Depending on the lightbar and pods you can either bolt it into the TSLOT channels or drill a hole in the crossbar and bolt through it just like you would in the front.

For anyone who is interested, I have a 5' Bed Toprac that is pieced together from blemished parts. Basically a collection of crossbars that had minor scratches, dings, or other marks on them. No functional damage and even the cosmetic stuff is pretty minor. The rack is bare aluminum and comes with (8) 1.5" x .75" crossbars, and (2) 2" x 1" crossbars. Asking $350 shipped to the lower 48.

Did I mention I test fit this model with optional mounting feet on a 3rd gen 4runner and it makes a very nice 3/4 rack....:stirthepot:
