One thing that sucked about being a Cop...use to always have to go to the hospital to either meet your victims or have to escort our suspects there before we took them to jail.

On a good note...a lot of Cops are married to nurses...hahaha!

We get hospital duty if an offender has to have surgery or something like that. I had to sit in a hospital for 15 hours last month.

That my friend sound very boring! But at the same time...easy money!

There's no way I could do your job. It would suck having to be around offenders all the time...knowing they are scheming against you the whole time. Like I said...I give you a big standing "O" for doing your job!! Speaking of...what job are you looking at doing in the National Guard?

It definitely was easy money, plus the hospital feed us. Couldn't complain too much, besides the fact I hate hospitals.

Each job has their own challenges, you never know who the bad guys are. At least I know who the bad guys are, and know they are felons. Hats off to all the Police Officers on the beat. Insanely hard job at times. I am just beginning to take a look into all of it, I've always regretted not pushing harder to serve. Figured I should try to get into it before I hit the age limit.

If you're looking at part time...you have to take a job that is in your area. So if you want to be an MP...and they don't have a unit of MP's in Colorado then you can't do the Job. Something to keep in mind...National Guard is normally Combat arms style jobs. Where U.S. Army Reserves jobs are the more technical in the rear jobs. They are two differant agencies. National Guard is owned and operated by the State. Reserves is Federal Government...actual Army.

That is also something I have been looking to as well. My dad did 20 years in the reserves, so I am taking some advice from him. Luckily there is a pretty big Army base not to far from me, which I believe houses some of the NG units as well.

I'm assuming you're referring to Ft Carson...when I was there, yes there were NG units stationed there.

What job are you looking at...or are you open on that??

Ft Carson is the one, its about an hour and half-2 hours from here. I am pretty open, if I can still use my ASVAB from when I was 17 I can do pretty much any job that is science related. I can also go for OCS since I have my 4 year degree, so there is that option as well.

Unfortunately your test has expired. You'll for sure have to re-take it. No worries though...most guys (like 98%) almost always do better on their re-test.

If you go enlisted...you'll start out as an E-4...due to your college Personally I'd roll with OCS...although if you go that route you have a chance being picked for Regular Army (if I'm not mistaken...I apologize...it's been a while). But I would difinetly check on that part.

One other options you have...you can go Warrant Officers and Fly helicopters if you want! That would be a kick butt job!!

Definitely a lot to look into. I am really looking into OCS since I have the degree, but Warrant Officer would be a hell of a good time flying helicopters. My first goal is to get on the special teams at work, then I will start with the signing up process with NG or Reserves.
