Did they say this was a change, the use of cleats, from the Gen2 version of the cover or did they imply the use of cleats was always possible?

for the access rollup cover ...

on the 5ft bed, there is only 2 tie downs for the cover on each side. on the 6ft bed, there is 3 tie downs, so the oem sliding cleats can only move from rear/front tie down to the middle tie down.

Thanks. I just ordered the cover from Truck Alterations. $350 was a good deal and the cover looks nice enough.

I just installed my new Access Standard rollup Tonneau cover. I had an Access cover on my 2009 with excellent results. I like the ease of access to the full bed.image.jpg

Good idea. I had thought about sticking a piece of pipe insulation in them if I get a cover. The black silicone sounds even better.

    I ordered the Undercover SE.
I need something waterproof, secured and strong to carry my guns and golf clubs. I know I would have to remove it to get full bed access, but I will deal with that as needed. Will post pictures when it arrives.

Just installed an Access vanish. At first I was very displeased. On the 3G the bed tappers at the very back near the tailgate. This was stopping it from sitting flush and lo-pro at the back. Well that's nothing a jig saw and an angle grinder couldn't fix. I trimmed the tonneau side rails at the back to let it sit nice and low. Prolly shitcanned my warranty but it was worth it. Works great and looks great, now. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

You can see where I had to trim the cover frame at the back to make it sit flush. For the price, 250 shipped, I'm happy with it.

For those of you who are interested, I heard from BakFlip yesterday that the Revolver X2 should be available within the next 30-60 days. Does anyone have any experience with this cover on a different truck? I'm trying to decide between this and the Fold-A-Cover G4.

Funny last week they told me 60 to 90 days on all their covers. I also contacted gator and they said the same. Something tells me someone else is making these for them. Or they are using the same suppliers.

NoDak. Is this the 2016 Tacoma Access cover model? I am confused as to the installation brackets on the bed rails. When I called Access they told me it is installed by removing the bed rails, putting the cover rail behind it, then reinstall bed rail with longer bolts and spacers. Has anybody else installed the access original on a 2106, if so, if the mounting is different pics would be appeciated.

I had a Access Rollup Cover Original installed. as you can see from my original post with pics, they used the oem channel to mount the tiedowns and lost a little of the oem sliding cleats full coverage.

if you also notice, the made the access cover rail flush with the end closer to the tailgate and fill in the gaps with rubber seal/foam to make up the difference of the taper.

the yellow circles show the rubber seal/foam added to fill the gaps.

the red arrow shows where the taper starts.

What does the side shot look like with the cover closed on the Original?

Apexal, did you install the access cover yet. I am thinking about getting one and thought that they installed behind the bed rail with longer bolts and spacers. NoDak post pictures of his install and it showed brakets mounted to the bed rail for install. Which way is it?
