Pronghorn Overland Gear now has a Modular Front End System (MFES) for 2nd generation Tacomas. I have been envious of the Jeep version for a while, and was thrilled to see a taco version is in the works. I have exchanged a few emails with Pronghorn, and they say that the MFES-Tacoma is going to be shipping in about six weeks. The photos you see on the website are of one of the pre-production test models, with only a few including the fender fill panels shown here.

Not for everyone, but I think these look bad-ass. Either way, I always favor function over form and these things are very functional. Better recovery points, reconfigurable on or off the truck, tons of accessory mounting options already there, and light weight. Two permanent winch mounting options (high and low) or a winch cradle option for the GearMount System. In addition to plans for a rear bumper with the same mounts and hard points, they are also going to have a “side rail system” that has them too. No info on that yet.

Anyway, I’m getting one of these next summer. Anybody had experience with the Jeep versions?

Right? Looks almost military, but I'm interested in the usability, flexibility, and weight control. I would use the basic bumper for everyday, then throw on a grill guard for camping trips. I also like the removable winch for the same reason.

Has anyone purchased one of these? I missed the discount. I just emailed them to see when they might run another one. I really would love to have one of these for deer protection, without all the weight of steel.
