    I'm on page 5 so far.... Dangit. I've got less than 10k on my truck. The pulse vibe has been there a LONG time. Honestly can't say it wasn't there prior to lift.

    If I switch from 2H to 4H not so much as a click noise. Switching from 4H to 2H, especially if moving, it goes "KaChunk". The other day it did it hard enough I saw the hood bounce up. Can that be blamed on this needle bearing?

    Dang might have to show up at Toyota this morning and ask them to drive me to work while they look at this thing.

    Drive at 45mph, felt the pulsing, switched to 4HI and things got a little more rumble-y but the pulsing was gone. So....needle bearing it is.

    Dropped off my Taco at Toyota this morning to diagnose the 35-45mph pulse vibe I've been ignoring for months now. 9606 miles on the odo.

    Service advisor says he's only seen it once before. Said that truck was driven hard OffRoad often and the guys front diff was trashed by the time it came in. Guy had to get a new diff.

    He was very cautionary about assuming mine has any said issues and said he wants to start slow and start a paper trail for Toyota in case they have to warranty anything. He mentioned something about a potential but uncommon fix (not sure he said the TSB acronym though) if there is play in the needle bearing.

    We'll see.

    Asked them to go ahead and do my 10k Toyota care service while they have it. Going to put in my Mobile 1 Full Synthetic and Fumoto for me.

    Wow, I've heard of dealerships that won't even put oil that you bring them in the motor, much less a replacement drain plug.

    I'm tempted to take mine to the dealership, but I'd like to know if the TSB bearing will actually cure the issue or fail later on like the first one. If the latter, I'd rather go the ECGS route. That and all my dealerships lock up when they see a modified vehicle. They don't seem scared of Magnuson-Moss anymore, and I don't care to dick around with lawyers and force someone to do work on my truck when they don't want to. That just ends in shitty quality.

    I'm not holding my breath. I've had one VERY (VERY) bad experience with this dealer and several great ones. Hoping for the best though.

    slide-in camper, OME Nitros w 884's and Dakars, Michelin A/T2, Pro EFX heated towing mirrors, Timbren HD bumpstops, KB VooDoo bed rails and tailgate cap, ImMrYo rvm bracket, G-Tek Fab door sill protectors, Ultragauge, window visors, hood deflector, Wet Okole seatcovers, in-vehicle safe.
    Old Man Emu kit with 884 springs will give you 2" of lift in front and it will feel much better than stock. In the rear if you want your truck level you only want to add an inch or more so you can add an Add-a-leaf, or get a new Dakar leaf pack and remove the upper overload and the middle leaf to make it softer. That, or buy a different leaf pack designed to give less lift but I don't know much about those. If you're concerned with price, get an add-a-leaf. If you want a better riding rear suspension replace there whole leaf pack.

    I have 884's in front for about 2" of lift and the full Dakar pack which leaves me with some rake which I did want and do like. You can see some pics of my truck on my media page for reference.

    I have 883's and those are damn near perfect for leveling a DCSB 4x4. They give about 1 1/4" of lift, and I still needed a 1/4" spacer for driver side. My problem is though, now I need to build up the rear for a RTT and camping gear, so I'll be going to 884's once I put the AAL in. If you just want some beefier suspension for those mtn roads and don't load up the bed very often, 883's + OME shocks should do the trick I think. Then get taller AT tires for more clearance. OME is perfect for the weekend warrior truck.

    How much rake do you have? I've always assumed Dakar's are way too much for 884's..... unless a LB makes that much difference.



    Ah, looking at your pics I see you have a cap, and haul campers....

    So I own a 2006 Regular Cab and I wanted to get at least 3" of lift I know it says to get the 884s or the 885s with the 90021 shocks but I am going to get a bumper eventually I just don't know when, do you guys think it would be ok if I just went with the 886s and the 90000 shocks and just handle the crappy ride until I get the bumper?

    Also my frame just got replaced and I got new leaf springs so I don't feel like buying new dakars right now. You think the 2" add-a-leaf will do me fine? I don't have a topper or armor in the back to add additional weight.

    Alright, I finally got my LR uca's in the mail today, and i plan on installing them and my OME lift with dakar leaf packs this weekend. Is there any particular order i just install the uca's/lift in? and is there anything i need to watch out for when installing the lift.. this is all on a 2011 trd tacoma

    Most people who go for an AAL wind up replacing it later with a leaf pack. I'd just do it right away. Dakars are pretty cheap and they will be so much better than an AAL.

    Also, I'd just go for the 886's if you are sure about the bumper. 2-2.5" is much better for your truck though than 3+" if you want to limit the wear and tear, as well as the need for aftermarket UCA's.

    Read the how to posts and watch some videos.

    Just do it one corner at a time. Order doesn't really matter. I didn't do UCA's so I can't help you on that but I found that dropping the LCA straight down was the best way to remove and install the shock/coil assembly. Just back off the alignment cam bolts to allow it to drop straight down. Expect to use a pry bar on the Dakars to get the bolts fed through. Good luck.

    I've had a Wheeler's progressive AAL in my shitty 2+1 leaf pack for two years and 20k with no issues. No cap or armor, but I have had 1,000lbs+ in the bed a few times with zero problems. The unloaded ride is much smoother than it would be with Dakars. I agree that Dakars are better for regular hauling and carrying the constant weight of a cap and/or armor, but @GingerJoe said he doesn't have either.

    As long as your factory leafs are in decent shape, grab a Wheeler's or Icon 1.5" progressive AAL, Joe (Wheeler's is the same but cheaper). If you leave you overload leaf in, you'll get 2" of rear lift and a relatively smooth ride.

    Hey all,

    So a short while back I picked up a complete OME lift from a guy for $800. 887 coils, dakar leafs, shocks, brake lines, drop kit, u-bolts. I like the ride on and off road but not the stance so much.

    Before the lift i had a pair of 5100s on it and still have them in the shop.

    I am curious to see if the 5100s set at 1.75" with the 887 coils and some new UCAs up front. Then add a 1" block lift in the rear with the dakars.

    My goal, if possible, is to lift the truck a little more amd level out the stance. I hate rake on a truck.

    From what I've read, 1.75" plus 887s might put you over 3". Not sure if that's what you're looking for. Slightly off topic though, are those 285 tires with the 887 coils in that picture?
