Unfortunately with the amount of work we have going through our shop, we simply cannot take on any customization to our products, or special orders. It's a great idea that you have, but unless you order it bare & do it yourself, we simply do not have the ability to accommodate the request. I'm so very sorry.

Is there any plans to make the rear bumper out of aluminum at some time in the future?

 

No worries. Nothing a little file couldn't fix.
Didn't affect the skid at all. Tested it out the weekend after the install.

Due to the fact that we integrate the hitch into our rear bumpers and don't want to compromise the strength we have decided to stick with steel... They only weigh 85#

 

Take those frame plugs out.

 

With just regular fasteners i would call it that much of a challenge. Well for someone who has half a mind for anything mechanical lol. I was actually surprised how easy it was to get mine out and back in, even with the winch installed.

Now if you used security fasteners it would be a lot harder for sure. Mostly cause you cant really see the fasteners so a thief would have a harder time figuring out how to get it off.


Do have a question though. On the rear bumpers with swingouts....is the swingout able to be removed and reinstalled pretty easy? Ive been thinking of getting on but i haul stuff and need the tailgate down for that at times.

 

I have the swing out. It wouldn't be hard to take off but it is more hassle than it is worth. It has a lot of parts in it. I'll be leaving mine on.

 

Our gate is designed for full-time use... it can be removed, but takes times & the bumper looks ridiculous without the gate attached once it's designed for one!

 

I think it looks cool even without the gate...

 

Thats kind of what i figured. Sadly the truck has to live a double life of fun and work or it wouldnt even be a thought to not have a swingout

It looks like it would work with a shell just fine. It just replaces the tailgate from what i can tell and the shell doesnt contact the tailgate other than the glass part. Migh thave ot close the glass on the shell then swing the tire closed though

Plus ive been thinking of only using the shell in winter and doing bed bars/bed rack in the summer.


And trust me satin ive been thinking about getting one of yours for awhile! Though i want a fully loaded one so would need to save up a bit first. Im sure i could sell my current one (which isnt high clearance). I just have to figure out what direction i really want to go with everything now
