So earlier this evening as I'm exiting the garage at work in my 2008 in the rain and fog, I begin fumbling in the dark for the fog lamp switch. I was reminded of the irritating fact that none of the controls surrounding the instrument cluster have illuminating lights. Not the fog lamps, nor the remote mirror controls, nor the 2w/4w drive selector, etc...

Did they ever add illuminating lights to these controls in subsequent model gen 2's? 2009-2015?

I'm wondering if the gen 3's have these controls illuminated?

    How about a bed light?

These are items that Toyota really dropped the ball on IMO. I know it's no big deal, but it is a pain in the ass having to fumble in the dark for these switches.

    Cheers... Loco

My 2014 fog light switch itself is illuminated, but there's no indicator light to tell you whether the fogs are on or not. You just have to look out over the hood to tell.

I was hoping that the 3rd gen 3rd brake light with integrated bed lights would fit a 2nd gen, but it doesn't look like the holes line up even. Maybe I'll bring my tape measure to the dealership and see for myself.

I hate how the gauge lights don't come on with the headlights and the dimmer on/off roller switch isn't illuminated. Doing the 4x4 switch light mod made me so happy.

In the early 80's when the switch for the high beams moved from the floor to be integrated with the turn switch, that was pretty traumatic for folks. Lots kept stomping the floor looking for the switch.

Just learn where the controls are. I mean bunches of them have already moved from the dash to the steering column. :D

I'd be happy to go back to good 'ole knobs chrome knobs.

Even most of the old chrome knobs were illuminated some way.
Eight years later and I still can't find the fog light button. Lol!
