Anyone Without the Tech Package?

Seems like everyone I see on the forums who has a TRD has decided to go with the Tech Package. I wouldn't mind the dual zone climate control as my last two Honda's had it and it was great but not a deal breaker on the Tacoma. The other features would have been nice though (last two Honda's also had auto headlights so I'm still getting used to turning on and off my headlights on the Taco). Plus the dealership where I got my '16 from was not willing to drop their 5000 over MSRP for one with the package. Anyone else who decided not to get the Tech Package?

 

I don't have the tech package. The sunroof would have been nice but there was nothing else in the package I cared for - don't need heated seats with cloth seats, dual climate control doesn't get used often, I can look behind me and adjust my mirrors properly so I don't need all the sensors

 

I do NOT have the Tech Package. Would have liked JBL system, but did not want moonroof, tonneau cover or sensor stuff.

I am perfectly happy with Premium Audio and Single climate control. This is a mid size truck ... person sits right beside me ... not sure if dual air makes a difference ... I just close the vent.

I have the TRD OR 4X4 AUTO, the rear locker is what I needed, super happy with my Taco

 

No tech package for me. Did not want the mandatory sunroof that is required with the tech package and I did not want to lose the space behind the rear seat that is utilized for the JBL subwoofer.

Very happy without it.

 

I don't because I didn't need any of it and didn't want to pay the 3000+ for it, but now that I think about it, it's not a bad price for what you get.

 

I'm with @SamChieftan and @Mannys, I didn't get the tech package because I didn't want to be force-fed a moon/sun roof that I didn't want. I would've gotten some of the other stuff had it been available, but I can live without most if and I've found that the non-JBL Entune Premium sounds good enough until I figure out (and save the $$$) how, or if, I want to upgrade it.

 

No tech package here either on my Sport. I live in the Bay Area so I don't need heated seats or dual climate control (not cold enough to bother). The sensors seemed cool, but unnecessary to me. I'm thinking about aftermarket speakers and an amp as well so the JBL package was not enticing. Not worth the price tag for my needs. Out of all of the options I do wish I had some form of automatic climate control (just not necessarily dual).

 

I didn't want the sunroof, each and every one of the 5 full-size pickups I've owned ended up with dented roofs at one time or another...its a truck (just a small one). DCSB MT 4x4 Sport. Would have liked and OR but couldn't find one with a manual and without sunroof. No doubt more choices will arise as supply improves, but I needed purchase now, so I'll make do.

 

I don't have the tech package either....but I would have bought the sunroof IF and only IF it was sold as a stand alone option...the rest to ME is just fluff!

I only wanted the tech package for the Heated Seats...Could live without the moonroof.. I like the parking sonar and bsm more than I thought i would...The jbl system kicks my ass at 18-20percent volume...it's wicked nice.

I was originally going to order a manual offroad with the tech package, but got my hands on the limited on the day it arrived at the dealer.

 

I would have liked heated seats, its the one item I might still add from the aftermarket. Haven't seen a Limited yet here in the Rockies, we might be more of an SR5 crowd, actually.

 

For me it there's nothing on it I need or want,especially for $3,000. Personally I don't see the need for dual climate control in a mid size truck. I'm moving to Az soon so the last thing I want is heated seats or a sunroof with more sun beating on me when it's 112* out. I'm happy with a standard stereo and would rather the extra storage behind the rear seats. I guess the back up sensors and blind spot monitoring would be nice if available a-la-cart.

 

I'd pay whatever it cost just to not get that hideous chrome rear bumper.

 

Don't have the tech package on mine. Would of like to have the JBL like in my last truck but couldn't swing it this time

 

I ordered a TRD OR without the tech package, but I don't have it yet. IMHO it's got plenty of tech in it without the extra $2900.

 

No tech pkg for me... the JBL would have been nice but I can take the price of that package and put it into an aftermarket stereo system upgrade.

 

Trust me I know it's cold up near Flagstaff. While we were in Az the beginning of Nov. the Flagstaff area received almost 2' of snow and a few nights dipped down into the teens. One of my reasons for the move is to get away from the cold and snow,been dealing with it for over 50 years. If the only snow I ever see again is in pictures I'll be happy.

 

No tech package for me. After having and not using several sunroof I was not interested in another. I will probably end up going aftermarket with bumpers so I didn't need all the sonar stuff nor was I interested in it. Same goes for the color matched parts. Truck heats up pretty well even in the dead of winter so heated seats aren't necessary for me. Wouldn't of gotten the upgraded audio with the tech package either. Am I forgetting anything?

 

No tech package. Definitely didn't want a moon/sun roof, and wanted the behind the seat storage. Seems like you get more win by not paying the extra monies
