So I sent for my first sample to Blackstone for my 04 V6 4X4 Tacoma with 60K. This is the first time I am getting this report and they found coolant in the oil or that is what I am understanding. Now I have owned this Tacoma since brand new and it had every single service performed by a Toyota dealer as recommended in the owners manual.

With this report in hand what are the things that I should be looking to replace, I am assuming it could be a head gasket or a warped head but my expertise is not that good with these things.

Also to note there is no sweet smell from the exhaust, the engine does not feel any different than it did when I bought it in 2003 (even still silky smooth at idle) and my average fuel consumption is around the 17-19 mark depending on if I am mostly city or highway. On a pure highway run it will get close to 21. Around the area where the head meets the block there is no leakage or any kind that I can see.

I have attached the report, if someone can tell me what to check I would appreciate it.

OP, I have never had an oil analysis done on a vehicle, but from what I'm reading, I wouldn't get my underwear in a knot. You've performed all of the necessary maintainance at the dealrship, you know the history of the truck and no sweet smell from the tailpipe.

What concerns me is when they say they may have found coolant in the sample. Either they did or didn't find coolant. Their filters are very sensitive and I would suspect that would be one thing they would pick up on.

If it were me, I'd keep an eye on the coolant level and see if there's a loss or not. I suppose that with 60k miles, the block could crack or a head gasket leak and coolant bypass the rings and make it to the oil sump, but I think it maybe their way to get another analysis out of you.

Hold onto your $$ for awhile and keep an eye on the coolant level. If it goes down, then take it back to your mechanic. Good luck.

I'd trust Blackstone, but honestly it looks like the test was inconclusive and I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe have it done again next oil change and make sure you draw the sample from the middle of the draining. It looks like they couldn't form a percentage for coolant and after a lot of miles some is bound to find its way in.

A oil analysis is a good way to worry about something for nothing. Save your money for when you really have a problem.
The report is really inconclusive with all the "may's". You MAY have a problem and MAY not have a problem.

I wouldn't draw any conclusions until you have 2 or 3 analysis completed. I run them on a Mazda RX8 with a rotary -- lots of variability depending on oil used.

From your description of the maintenance you are doing I am with everyone else - don't worry, run another analysis in 3,000 miles. Did you grab the sample on the oil change as it was flowing out of the oil pan? Heard of crazy readings by grabbing it out of container the oil was drained into. Here are some other oil analysis from 3.4 toyotas - http://www.yotatech.com/f2/rocks-used-oil-analysis-thread-208335/

Having 0% antifreeze in the oil is the only useful test result.
