    Today I fixed my ebrake. I know I know :worthless: but I was running out of daylight fast. Somehow the cable had come out of the end of the handle but I was able to reconnect it with the help of my fiancé. There must be something missing on my because nothing triggers the little push button that shuts the brake light off. I just pulled the plug above it so it's always off but I'm still curious to know what it's supposed to look like down there.

    It's less Tacoma and more mod
    I'll take a pic for ya when I get off this airplane. I'm still somewheres over Colorado but I'll snap a pic when I get home. It's just a pin switch and a paddle that comes off the shaft to hit it if I remember correctly.

    After some research it appears I was wrong. :anonymous:



    Still, all '01-'04s, regardless of J-Shift or push button, had electronic actuators. It certainly makes some vacuum like noises though. Swapping transfer cases shouldn't require changing the actuator, but the button on the push button engages the actuators on both the transfer case and the front diff, whereas with the J shift triggers the actuator when you toss it in 4wd. Not a clue if the wiring between the two is compatible.

    So if a J-shift swap was done, couldn't a switch on the dash be used to engage the ADD?

    Edit, like run the wires up to the dash and connect to a switch.

    I don't see why not. But you should also be able to wire it in to whatever switch is already in the J-Shift.

    I suppose maybe. The only thing the switch on my J-shift turns on the little 4x4 indicator on the dash. But I suppose it could be used with a relay.

    I like my hubs personally. :headbang:

    Bolted my clutch back to the firewall.

    Anyone had issues with a bolt falling out that holds the clutch pedal to the sheet metal near the fire wall? Similar to the one shown above the spring in this picture. It has fell out twice in 4 years while driving.

    That's sweet man. I don't believe in using dogs to tree a cat at all but still cool to see one. Hopefully this 4th year of tracking/calling I'll finally get one.

    Cool man thank you. Yeah the pin switch and paddle that sounds about right. I must be missing the paddle.

    In response to all this 4wd add jshiftin electricock nonsense I'm guessing I have a jshift? No push buttons or manual hubs here

    Plenty of the dcab guys who swapped to five speeds did that as well. Also lots of people pick them up for dual cases but yeah unless you are like me and prefer to have fewer electrical failure points there's not much reason to.
