Did you had the carrier bearing vibe too? I'm trying to know what is the noise I am hearing when driving and I think it's the carrier bearing but I'm also think that it could be the needle bearing when I read on here...

I have never experienced a vibe like that so I can't compare... if you do, can you tell me the difference?

    Thanks!

Better to ask what I have not done.
7.25 at the bottom deep and 3.25 at the top. It's 18.5 tall and a 2 inch deep notch in the back starting 9.5 from the bottom and going to 13 from the top. (Mine is from 10 from the bottom to 12.5 from the bottom but fits very tight) and is 30 inches wide. Hope that helps.

When you hear the noise, throw it in 4wd. If the noise immediately goes away, it's the needle bearing. Simple as that. Doesn't matter if you're on pavement or dirt, a quick check won't hurt anything.

engage 4hi at any speed under 60mph, you'll be fine - if you wanna go 4lo, throw it in neutral, switch, then drive forward (you'll hear it change beneath you) - that is, for auto trans

You don't need 4low to diagnose the bearing. You should really only be hearing the vibe between about 30 - 45 mph, so anywhere in that speed is no problem - even on pavement if driving down a straight section of road. For some trucks, the noise stays gone when you shift from 4 hi back to 2wd. Sometimes it comes back. The key to diagnosing the bearing is that the noise/ vibe goes away when shifting into 4 hi.

I had the vibe for over 10k miles after installing my lift before I installed the bushing. There was no damage to the axle, and the bearing even looked fine after it was removed. Don't sweat it too much if it's the bearing, is all I'm saying. Just get the bushing in when you can.

Only vibe I seem to have is the needle bearing. Dealer says they trashed the "grinding sound" (their words) to the front diff. They told me before I left the truck they planned to lift the truck and "drive" it on the shop to see if they could diagnose it while in their lift/rack.

Well I got the toytec springs installed and a 1.5" tapered block installed then put my new 35 KM2s and sr8's on(with 1.25"spacers). Took her for a alignment and they couldn't do it. Ordered the cam tab gussets from wheelers so I can take it back and go for round 2.
41k and I've got messed up cam tabs. But at least she is looking fine
