Hidden Falls 11/28/15

Hey yall, decently new to the forum. Just wanted to give an open invitation to anyone who wanted to come out to Hidden Falls the Saturday after thanksgiving for some nice wheeling. Some members from AWT (Texas Tech's Off Road Club) are making the trip and some guys from Austin Jeep People and Houstons Jeep club.

Anyway, it isn't an actual event, just a bunch of guys who enjoy wheeling doing just that. Hope to see some of yall out there, feel free to DM me about it

Trip Update; was a blast. Picked up a bunch of stragglers but here's all the stuff of the two guys I know really well who came from Houston and DFW areas before we drove back to Texas Tech.






We might have taken a ATV trail that spanned the entire park, and got dumped and were forced to do three 4/5 trails. Then ended up at Jody's Revenge, which has one of the hardest obstacles at the park. Three ways down and they're all 5/5. This was what we found to be the easiest. Was next level slick.


I have videos of everyone going down, he didn't end up rolling but it was so close everyone at the bottom bolted.

 

Just wanted to bump for anyone interested. Good group of guys going, not to big of a group but big enough to have a nice diverse vehicle set. Going to meet the morning of the 28th and camp until the 29th

 

Not sure I can make it, but would like to hear about your trip since it should be fairly wet out that weekend.

 

Yeah I'll do a report. Should be an interesting trip. It's not only going to rain all week down there but has been raining a lot from what my family from Cedar Park has told me. Hopefully not to much sliding into body damage?

Figured a month would be enough. Reading that thread sounds more of a solid axle adventure but I should be down. Can probably get a good assortments of old Toyota trucks and jeeps to go too if y'all would have em

Ill be going this weekend with a couple of guys on here this coming weekend. Think ill be safe without armor?

 

Depends on what you do. I do 4s with s 2" IFS lift and stock bumpers and get a bit of damage. If you do North Pole to north peak you should be fine without armor. Stay away from Jodys Revenge and Bronco, you'll get stuck and be forced to take damage and risk rolling.

 

Cool, I'm looking at rock sliders now. I have the stock step rails and im pretty sure they'll bend the body.

 

Depending on what you'll do those will get some scratches. theres plenty of nice trails for scenery and I've been 15+ times and just now starting to see it all. If y'all are camping, head to Arkansas Bend which is 20 minutes south which will be free this time of year and is on the lake, well worth it. Also, 45 minutes north in Llano is coopers if y'all have time.

They don't let you anymore; went out all the time, it's barricades now. Got the park ranger called on us.

Sure it'd be fine in the winter when it's free to enter but spring and summer? Not risking the ticket then

Yeah, then when the lake was low go through that steep rut and take those three obstacles to the other side of the penn
