Scotland for this guy. Islay in particular, but I also want to visit Inverary Castle in Argyll because I'm descended from the Campbell clan.

The GF and I are headed to Jamaica in February, and the next trip we want to take after that is to AK, probably during the summer of '17.

Interesting decision, going from a mid-caliber to a pistol caliber. Particular reason why?

    I don't smoke :notsure:

Well, not that. I AM looking forward to some genuine Cubans while I sit on a beach sipping rum.

I looked for the same things as when I buy any other gun, personally. Made sure it was rust-free, had a shiny bore, a tight action, that the muzzle crown weren't damaged from careless cleaning, that the sights were intact and not bent/broken, etc.
The only thing out of the ordinary that I paid extra attention for was to make sure that the throat/action/barrel wasn't pitted from shooting corrosive ammo without a proper cleaning afterward.

If I can't drive there I really don't feel a need to go....But that is just me. I have been shopping for a Mini Clubman S and hope to find one before spring that suits me...

The plan is to fulfill one major bucket list item in particular.... Tail of the Dragon (And in something more fun than my FJ or CRV if yano what I mean)

If you opt for 2 wheels, don't be dumb with it. Dragon's Tail has eaten a LOT of bikes over the years because people misjudged the corners, how sticky their tires are, or how good of a rider they are.

Pretty cool website, Killboy.com. They take pictures of every car/bike that goes on that road and posts them up on line

Matching serial numbers and a good bore. Problem is, it'll likely be caked in cosmoline so checking the bore will be difficult. If you're looking for a collector, there are a number of markings to look for also but I'm assuming you're just looking for a cheap shooter. I'd recommend the Archangel stock and Timney trigger, makes the old rifle a sweet machine!
What could possibly go wrong with that plan?

Make sure it's a Harley, too. Nothing corners like a full-dress wide glide.
