Black or gunmetal on a Barcelona Red access cab? I'm leaning towards gunmetal because I think black is a little overplayed with red trucks.

Much appreciated! I've been torn on these for the past few days. I believe I'll be pulling the trigger on the gunmetal.

After weeks of waiting the wheels finally came in and got them installed after work. Front small mudflap forward of the wheels rubbed when i was turning esp when going into my not steep at all driveway. so i just took them off and its all good like everyone said. Thanks for all the help guys. Here's a couple of pics for now, its dark so all i could get was a shot at the shop and in the garage.
BTW got the wheels from Lisa at Lexus of Miami and it was perfectly shipped. I'll feel bad for the next poor soul that gets the damaged wheels from Olathe Toyota.

I went up slightly on the sidewall to the 265/70/17 C rating. If I stuck with the 265/65/17 the load rating only comes in E and weighs more than the 70s at C load. Took it on the freeway to work today and hit about 80mph and its really quiet. No humming or purring and actually sound like the stock Dueler HT's. The one thing i did notice was that it does take a little long to accelerate from like 60-80, i had to keep my foot on the pedal with more pressure as the truck kept wanting to slow down more. Something expected with these tires and not a big deal at all.

After parking I noticed that the tire does scrap a tiny bit on the rear of the front wheel well i guess when i'm turning. I never heard it and its barely anything. Its the dark rubbed out spot on the pic. IMG_3488.jpg

BTW.. I wanted to put that clearcoat on the center caps. How do you pop the centercaps off without removing the entire wheel?
Still debating whether to use the matte or clear. Maybe try painting them on with an artists fine brush.

Pretty sure you have to pop them off from the back.

You can pop them off through the back like mentioned. I used th clear coat applicator from a touch up pen and traced over the letters 3 times with an hour between coats.

I just ordered a jar of clearcoat off Amazon. It's called bobs clearcoat. He sends it with a fine hair artist brush. 5 bux. I'll post some pics when I finish

Btw I just turn into a driveway today to get to a restaurant. I had some loud scraping on the inner mudflap area. The same pic I showed above. Only when turned to lock. Sucks.

I guess I'm one of the unlucky ones. I'm running even just driving flat and turning

My truck was doing that as well. Stopped as soon as I put a lift on it. (Yes, I realize that as soon as I stuff the tire into the wheel well, it will contact that same spot. I don't wheel hard enough to be concerned about it though)

That's where mine rub too and my plan is the same as Square's, lift it and deal with the very minor rubbing when they stuff.

The Huskyliner flaps don't have a bulge where the OEM flaps rub. They are 3" shorter than OE flaps too, which means less scrapage off road but less spray protection.

Another option is Rokblokz flaps, but some people find them ugly.

Yah I'm not too fond of the rockblokz looks either. They just look like square pieces. No shape to them. But I guess functionality is more important. Didn't think I was gonna rub so much only at lock going up driveways. Oh well. Might try to press that bulge out somehow.

So if you remove the mud flaps you don't rub at all? Even when off roading? I wanna get these wheels and tires but I don't wanna deal with any rubbing issues. Might get a 3" lift first if that is a issue on stock suspension.

i barely rub only when i'm turning to lock and esp when i'm turning in driveway like a gas station, but only a little. Its enough to notice the sounds also. I was able to take them off and step and flatten out that bulge and it was fine for a day, then the bulge reformed and rubbed again. Will probably get a set of front rokblokz.

Has anyone had to go to the snow and put chains on their trucks? Any issues with tearing up the wells?

So the only thing you are rubbing on is the mud flap? I don't mind removing the flaps if that keeps it from rubbing. I just wanna know if 265/70/17 will fit on a stock Tacoma with out rubbing issues

yes..rubbing is minor, just annoying. I removed the small front flap in front of the wheels and right now just keep the stock muds until i can find a deal on rokblokz after xmas. I'm all stock on TRD SEMA wheels. I had all these same questions, tons of them before i got them. Just check out the previous pages, i posted my truck on there. Some people had no rubbing issues at all..some do and I was just one of the unlucky ones that rubs on front and back flaps on front wheels. Rear wheels are fine.
