have you tried installing it the other way? Some LEDs might not light up if it's not the right voltage...

I doubt the fuse has blown, but it doesn't hurt to check. It is possible the LED bulb was broken to begin with, especially if its one of those ebay specials.

Just a word of caution when installing an LED festoon style bulb in your Tacoma interior dome light section.

I had purchased an LED style festoon for my 2008 Tacoma's interior dome (just like the one shown, from this place) https://www.superbrightleds.com/mor...us-bulb-1-smd-led-festoon-36mm-car/1266/2939/ and it has a heatsink fin on the back of it. Well the website that I purchased it from doesn't give too much description on it but Superbrightled's forgot to leave (or left out) a bit of very important information concerning it.
You see it is designed with the heat sink fin but "IF" the heat sink fin touches any part of the metal connectors or base of the dome light holders then this will cause the LED to short and not function!

Believe me I found this out the hard way. When I received it and installed it, it worked for just the very first time then-that was it, it shorted out! I really didn't know what was going on so I called Superbrightled and spoke to their customer service and explained what had happened. They inturn contacted their Service Technician Department and then relayed the message that if "any part of the heat sink fin touches any metal on the base or the connectors, will cause the LED to short out". I told them that if they knew about this, then why did they not put that info in the products description? As a customer, I would have been aware of this.

They said to send it back since it was shorted out and they would send me a new replacement. It works great but after what happened with the last one, before I installed the new one, I wrapped (covered) the heat sink fins with basic clear scotch tape so that when I installed it, I would not accidentally short it out.

I typed in my review about this LED's specific problem on Superbrightleds website reviews section since then but have yet to see it actually posted.

Overall this is a possibility of what has or could have happened with yours? Check the information on it from the place that your purchased it from, it may have some info about it (but I doubt it).

But I plugged my original back in because the led wasn't working and the original doesn't work either now.

Check the terminals with a VM. No V, go after fuses.

I have a 9 volt socket w/wires, out of an old radio I threw out years ago. When I get a LED bulb, I take it attach a 9 battery take the leads touch the LED contacts. When it lights now I know which side is pos/neg and mark the ends accordingly. Take a voltmeter check which end in the cars socket is hot.

It was my fuse that blew but I put in a new 7.5 fuse which is the intended fuse and it blew again. So I got a 10 volt and it even blew that. Does anyone have any suggestions

Did you check the polarity? On LED and socket in the car? If anything their's something wrong with the LED (bad/short). Take a 9 volt battery and check the LED bulb out of the car.

Take the bulb out lay it on a
piece of cardboard or wood. Take a 9 volt battery, maybe a second set of hands could help. One wire to one end other wire to other end, see if it lights. Sounds like maybe you need someone knows a little about voltage or Google some of these questions on checking things. Do you have a test light, volt ohm meter?
