Weather help!

Hey yall, just bought a 2015 tacoma pre runner and put a better built tool box on it for my day job as an electrician. I am also a musician and looking for solutions to hauling my guitar amps and speakers to gigs with potential of rain and bad weather. Any suggestions would be cool.

Which kind of truck? RC, AC, DC?

Long or short bed?

I would love a tonneau cover that worked with the toolbox! Just need to be pointed in the right direction, tool box is a must though!

 

Its a 6' foot bed, just had my box installed today, lets say budget isn't an issue.

 

Sounds like a cap would fit the bill.

 

Ok, so I do not work for myself, I am employed by a close family company that have no funds in my truck. Tool box is for my own personal tools( cords/some material) to keep them out of my apartment and make my girlfriend happy. I'll be transporting ladders up to 12' to jobs and a cap is out of the question. I also play live shows with my bands a whole lot and would like some protection for that. I've seen some images online with tonneau covers and tool boxes. I am open it DIY ideas too! or just tell me to buy a tarp and wish me best of luck, LOL

 

Something like this would be optimal, but I'll settle for a tarp if it is not possible. I would love to here from TACOMA owners. Thanks!

May I ask why? Sounds like the right solution. Even perfect for ladders with a proper rack mounted.

Still didn't tell us RC, AC, DC? (regular, access, double cab) That matters, as there are some interior options.

 

Access cab. I am very ignorant on the topic, but it seems like access to the bed and to the tool box would be limited with a cap?

 

If you are willing to remove the seats and do some work in the back, you'll likely be able to carry all your music gear there and be the most secure, leaving your tool box as is, cap free.

Lots of folks alter the AC and DC both, because they bought them for secure space for gear or dogs, not people.

There are even proper Toyota parts to help with the transformation, because some work trucks were available with all the people stuff deleted, meaning a smooth panel for the rear cab wall.

 

I have a '15 AC. Removed my rear seats and built a platform for my dog. I can fit my Marshall 4x12, 100w Head, and a couple guitars inside the truck. Pretty sure you could fit an Ampeg 8x10 in there on its side.

 

Cap with Windoors. Guys swear by them on here.
