Headlight Replacements

I have a 2012 Tacoma and about a 2 years ago the headlights started to yellow. I got them cleaned up, but they are yellowing again. Just seems like this is going to be happening over and over again.

My best option at this point is to just replace them. I'd definitely go OEM on them, but if there are great quality aftermarket replacements for a lower price please let me know. Tried looking for some aftermarket replacements, but the same issues kept coming up (fogging up, melting, yellowing, etc etc).

That is very early for your lenses degrade. Are you running HIDs? If not, clean them up again and apply headlight uv protectant. When you polish up the headlight, you remove the UV stabilizer, so they will degrade much quicker. Applying a stabilizer every 6 months solves the issue.

If going OEM you may upgrade to the Pro lights, see the headlight upgrade link in my sig.

If going aftermarket, I would only get CAPA certified lenses, anything else doesn't need to meet the same quality optics, and can be a significant downgrade. I've purchased non-CAPA lights and the beam pattern was so bad they ended up in the trash.

 

Thank for the info! I was running LEDs at the time. Didn't think they would get hot enough to degrade the lenses.

 

LEDs shouldn't get hot enough to be an issue. HIDs put out UV which degrade lenses if the UV bulb filter is poor quality, LEDs do not.
