Here's a couple more pics from the Mojave.

View from the Lava Tubes. And for the photo geeks out there, this image was shot with 12 vertical frames using a 70-200mm lens at 200mm. It was stitched together using PTGui and processed in Photoshop. At a native resolution without any resizing, I can print this 22" x 110" at 360dpi.

I went to Joshua Tree this past weekend and drove Old Dale Road and Pinkham Canyon. Both are really easy trails but a lot of fun. The weather was warm and the scenery was fantastic!

Here's my buddy's Jeep climbing Old Dale.

At the top of the hill on Old Dale Road, there's this abandoned building.

Inside the park, we stopped off at Cholla Cactus Garden. We timed sunset perfectly.

A Unimog was camping at Cottonwood Springs.

    Trailhead for Pinkham Canyon.

Not much wildlife, but we did see a lot of birds. This guy flew right up to us and hung out for a while.

    Great clouds on Sunday!

Various trees down in Pinkham Canyon.

The wildflower bloom was pretty good with lots of variety.

Not yet. It's been a crazy year so I haven't really worked on the truck with any additional mods. I've got lots of ideas and plans, but other things have gotten in the way. But when I do, I'll be sure to post any updates here. Thanks for asking.

Although I used the cord from the Ram mount and ran it down through the weather mounding, cutting the cigarette lighter plug and wired it up from there.

great lookin truck! Quick question about the sliders... Are these strong enough to use as a lifting point when working on the tires?

Oh hell yeah!!! They're strong enough to slide the truck on over rocks, so a they should be strong enough to lift up the vehicle. Highly recommend them!!!

Thank for the compliment. Sounds like I need to get back to work with more mods to keep it going. I know I sound like a broken record, but in due time.

Quick question about relocating the remote voltage sense wire.

Wouldn't the voltage be the same at the fuse block as it is on the bus bar? I am working on a similar setup and I would like my stock alternator to be able to fully charge my dual batteries up to 14v.

You definitely don't see top quality posts like this very often!

Mike, any trip or truck updates?

I am finally starting my mods and am using your thread as an influence.
I had 2 questions I hope you could answer.

    1) Metri Pack vs Weather Pack. What's the difference?
    2) What dremel bit do you use for cutting plastic?

Hey! Sorry I never responded. I probably saw this and said to myself that I'd respond later. And then I forgot. So hopefully late is better than never.

Anyway, thank you so much for the compliment!

Yes!!! I've got some major updates, and that's the exact reason I'm looking at my build page again. So stay tuned.

I don't remember all of the differences between these two families of connectors, because there's not just one difference. So I suggest you check out the following pages and look at the FAQ sections. Hopefully that'll give you what you're looking for.

    https://www.metripack.com/
    http://www.weatherpack.com/

I don't remember exactly, but if you look at the tutorial for the Bussmann RTMR, you'll see a pic of the dremel with a saw-tooth blade. I just used whatever was in the dremel toolbox.

So it's been a long time since I've updated my build page. Initially this was because I took some time off modifying the truck and to save some money. But then after a while, life took over with various things that I needed to focus on. The truck has always been there and my ideas never went away. I simply didn't have any time to do anything. BUT!!!! I finally got around to a few modifications, several of which are big ones. So stay tuned...
