Buy some good mud tires. That'll help you more than a locker and street tires

Pretty sure you can't put LSD in the front diff of a vehicle that's driven on pavement, way too much stress on the axles when turning, probably end up breaking something.

The front axles aren't connected in 2wd, but limited slip allows some skip between the diff. Otherwise it woukd chirp tires in the rear like a locker does

I have good tires, but depending on the terrain, that's not always true. Mud maybe, but not rocks.

Didn't you say you don't do rock crawling? Believe me, offroad tires will make a big difference

I don't, I'm looking more to just spin all 4 tires for mud and sand. I have good tires already. Did some research, and it looks like my only option is a selectable locker because of the ADD diff. With an auto locker or LSD, it would cause my front driveshaft to spin if I added a traction device. I'm in the process of saving up to switch my Truetrac from the Prerunner to my 4wd, so after that I may save up for an ARB in the front.

There are loads of front wheel drive cars with lsds... Some trucks like the raptor have torsion lsds up front.

    I stand corrected
Just had a look at that Torsen LSD. Quite different than a conventional LSD. Interesting set up

The Truetrac is a Torsen style LSD. I love it

I hate to break it to ya..... A limited slip would be terrible for the front end with an ADD. Would work ok in 4x4 but 2wd would be troublesome. ADD auto disconnects the right side axle, this axle then freewheels with the right side tire. The left side also turns with the tire but it has the spider gears in the diff spinning ALL the time you are in 2wd. If you put a clutch on these spider gear ends what will happen is your ring, pinion, and driveshaft would be turning at all times in 2x4. Might not mess anything up, just kill your fuel mileage....like an all the time 4x4.

Get the limited slip and find a hub lockout kit off of another Tacoma without ADD and you'll be set. Might even be easier to get the whole front diff out of the Tacoma without ADD and swap the whole thing. The ADD clamshell can be tricky to set up.
