So I almost have the '08 Taco paid off, which is nice. But, I have been itching to get a 2010 Camaro 2SS (that's 426hp).

I don't drive to work anymore as I live close enough to walk, so gas mileage really isn't an issue. Hwy mileage is better on the Camaro anyway. With the value of my Taco I could trade it in and get the Camaro I want only having to borrow around 10k.

I was curious if a bunch of Tacoma guys could talk me out of it? I love the Taco, but I think I would have more fun with the Camaro.

I realize that comparing the Tacoma to a Camaro is like comparing apples to oranges, I just want to weigh my options an thought you guys would be one of the best crowds to talk it over with. Thoughts?

The Camaro would def be more fun to drive. It just depends on what you need a vehical for. Do you haul stuff, tow, drive off road?? If not then get the Camaro, if so you are going to have a hard time hauling stuff with the Camaro. If you truck is almost paid off do you really want to finance another 10k just to have a new Camaro?? Do what Janster said... get something used that will be fun to drive! Good Luck!

If you are single then get the Camaro! It will be a chick magnet.

You lose alot of practicality switching from the truck to a sports car. Clearly alot less room for cargo. I doubt you would want a trailer hitch mounted on a Camaro.

Personally, I wouldn't buy a GM vehicle right now, no matter how sweet the Camaro looks. That's just me though. I'm coming from a previous GM car with my girlfriend still owning one. The quality just isn't there. If I was to get an American made car right now I would go with Ford. If I was getting a car for performance it wouldn't even be a question. I'd go with a WRX.

The new Camaros are cool but like all other throwback retro cars from the US, once the Avis, Hertz, etc, car rentals are flooded by base model V6 versions they will loose their appeal.

All depends on what your needs are... If you don't need to go off road, tow stuff, comfortably seat 4 people, well get the Camaro.

I had an 06 GTO which is the same car as the camaro. The camaro is a Holden Manaro based car which are manufactured in australia. My GTO gave me no problems...except posi didnt hold up to the brute force of 400ft lbs of torque. Miss that car

And we all know that the Manaro is based on the Opel Omega B.

May as well buy the GM... Get some of your tax money back. What a scam.

    What an anti-american company.

A company that takes YOUR tax dollars, to build a car in canada sourced from Australian parts. Thats criminal.

Holden Manaro is the original maker of the 60s-70s GTOs

Where else you gonna buy a car that fast and fun for that little money? And dont say STI or EVO because i used to take those all the time especially on the highway. To me quarter mile isnt all that its when the douche on the highway tries to cut you off and these high torque car can go 65-160 faster than any other car.

A nice V8 Camaro will run you about 33 grand before taxes.

    For that money?

i was talking new cars but yeah those are all freaking awesome cars but the camaro has a back seat if you ever need it and its brand new and they have a good warranty. You could buy a used GTO for 18k and have one hell of a car.
