brake issues help?

    every once in a while when i'm breaking right before i come to a stop, the breaks start bucking/locking up a little bit. anyone have any ideas?
    its a 2004 regular cab 4x4, i just purchased a little over a month ago.

    once they lock up i let off (but its when i need to be breaking so...) i'll press on and its just a bit jerky almost like the caliper catching on something causing it to pulse break. does that help describe it better?

    Sounds like warped rotors. Anytime you buy a used vehicle you should go replace the brakes, belt, oil and filter, transmission fluid, differential fluid, and most times tires as needed.

    Replace your brakes and rotors and bleed the brakes and you should be fine.

    x2 It could be a hung caliper but must of them time you would feel the truck pulling when you aren't braking cause it never released. but then if it is just when you are braking hard you could be feeling the abs working.
