I have been a member of this forum for just over a year now. Since beginning my membership, much has changed in my life. I have encountered many people on this site and am proud to call some of them my friends. I have also, as have all of us, encountered some people I would just as soon not hear from again. The former far outweigh the latter.

Prior to joining here, my truck, which I have owned since new, was used entirely for transportation. It sat in the driveway each night bone stock. It had never been off road, with the exception of the backyard. This is not due to lack of interest, or my inabilities, I had off-roaded in my Jeep and Ranger prior to buying the Tacoma, just because there was no one to go with and fewer places to go.

Then comes along TW. Soon after joining, I got bit by the mod bug. Larger tires and new wheels, followed by the required spacer lift. Upgraded brakes seemed appropriate after that. A few months of the spacers and it was time to drop the big nut on OME suspension parts and the Total Chaos UCAs. A few weeks ago, I installed a set of sliders. Sliders don't do much good in the center of the truck, so now I am looking at skid plates. Perhaps Long Travel or SAS is somewhere down the road.

This past summer, just after installing the suspension, I followed some fellow members around Rausch Creek Off Road Park. This was my first organized trail ride. Needless to say, we had a blast. My step-daughter said that it was the most fun she had ever had. Just went back to Rausch last weekend and had just as much fun, only this time in the rain and mud.

So through all of this I have made some great friends, my bank account is usually empty and the garage is filling with used and obsolete parts. The frame of the truck is perpetually covered in dirt and every time I pass a rock or an obstacle of some sort, I find myself thinking "I bet I can crawl over that".

Thank you all for your advice, friendship and shared experiences. I would like to hear from some of you who have had similar changes take place in your lives since joining Bobs merry online bunch.

Wow that's a nice story. It's weird because I seem to be able to apply your story to myself. :)

I've met some great people at local mod days and learned more about my truck than I ever though I would.

Young and old, we are all here because we love Tacoma's and I hope this site grows stronger and I get to meet more members in the near future.

    :woot: for TW!

I'm still a n00b here but I can see where this is going. Already restarted my Mod savings account that was depleted while unemployed.

People on that list usually do not stick around for very long. I think you are safe. Watch your step though. ;)
