I usually go to Palm Beach Toyota because they're more friendly. The last two times I have taken my truck to Royal Palm haven't turned out well. The accident this time, and incompetence leading to the failure of my rear brakes previously.

SO FAR I can say one thing. They seem to take responsibility when they screw up. Thus far, it doesn't appear that they have tried to hide anything...very straight forward...I've gone there each day to check on the truck, and he has walked me through every item being replaced and shown me each OEM part. Prior to paint.

They know I'm going to be picky...they know me, and I've made sure of that...lol.

As long as they play nice, take care of what needs to be taken care of, and give me a bumper to bumper warranty for atleast three years and lifetime warranty on the bodywork, I am not going to go the lawyer route.

RPB and PB Toyota are sister dealerships.

I seldom go to PB Toyota simply based on it is further away.

The wifes Corolla needs a new gas pedal, this was part of a recall several years ago. I spoke to RPB service and the service writer was a dick about even talking to me about it.

Earl Stewart, never been to them, but already know the Corrolla will have the work done there. I spoke with them and they were very customer service focused.

I will say RPB did work with me on the Tacoma headlights. It took some effort on my part. Ironically, they became more agreeable to install replacements for the ones with cracked lens after they found out , they had previously installed the incorrect headlights.

Couple of great guys in the parts department, but not much confidence in the service department.

As for the sales department, anytime I go to RPB, I get swarmed by sales people. They come on strong, but back down when I tell them I am looking for a Ford Raptor. They refuse to give up, so I play along. As the sales person explains how good the dealership is and they can get me the Toyota I want (not even seriously in the market), we discuss trading in my wifes 2010 Corolla S. 25000 miles and no damage history. They light up wanting that trade in. So I explain, how the car I want is a Prius Plug In. Then the lies begin. To which I let them know get me the car and we can deal. More lies, sadly they finally back down after I explain that I have been to a dealer in California and have the sales brochure.

Sadly, RPB no doubt makes money and sells cars, service and parts. The Gold Mine they sit on could do so well if they merely understood real customer service. It is great they are sorting out Dans truck, but they should after what they did. Just other stuff is such a bother to them, it makes me not want to spend the money there on another big sale.

Anyone got stuff bad to say about Earl Stewart?

Dan, obviously get the truck fixed properly.

Consider though, they will do a CarFax report. It will not detail how the damage happened, simply the repairs accomplished. You just took a huge hit on value during resale or trade in.

Might consider getting a that value back. Either directly or in the form of signed credit from the responsible management team. These can be rough waters that are deep. You can walk away and deal with the loss later or fight them for it now.

As an alternative, demand they do not submit CarFax or report any of it. Plus get it in writing that it will not be submitted and have it verified. CarFax can be good, but also very bad. And consider that not every shop does these entries.

    All the best with it.

That looks like a lot of fun but that's too much mud for me. I can just imagine how my truckand especially my engine bay would look after a trip like that. Hell i am still cleaning out mud from the last wheeling trip I took about a year ago.

I've been there a couple times. It's not a bad place to go, not as busy as Redneck Yacht Club, Okeechobee Mudfest, or MudJam. It draws a slightly different crowd. The downside here it that there isn't really a lot to do, or at least there wasn't last time I was there. You have about 2 miles of trails that a Toyota Corolla wouldn't find challenging, a deep mud hole that almost no one is in, and the back area that is just a mushy swamp with about 1 ft deep muck. Great for kicking up mud, but that's about it.

Now don't get me wrong, I'd go thare again...I do like to play in the mud.

Thank you. Sliders are a must for off road no way around it. Lucky it was a small battle scar. The tundra was something else. Haha we have concluded that there is a short in the electrical system somewhere between the alternator / fuse box. @Nived9559

Okay....finally did the sound deadening on the roof and behind the rear seats. It was much easier to do with a friend, but so far, it seems totally worth it for the sound deadening alone. Should give pretty good insulation on hot days aswell.

If you're looking to do this...Mechanix gloves and shade are a must. Even in the cool weather, we had to stop a few times because of the sun. Headliner was much easier to remove than I thought. First time had it down in 15-20 minutes. 10 screws and a few clips and there you have it.

Looks like your gonna have the quietest Tacoma out there. I always thought these trucks had SOME kind of insulation up there but you clearly showed me thats not the case. Nice job man!

It is crazy how little there is for soundproofing and insulation in the entire cab. Behind the rear seats, once you remove the plastic compartments, there is virtually nothing but thin sheet metal. In fact, the only location that I could find any sound deadening material and insulation was under the drivers floorboard carpet. Once the carpet was removed, you could tell why they put the insulation there. It was EXTREMELY HOT!!! Deffinatly know why the floorboard gets a little warm when the truck is in stop and go traffic. Next step is going to be a little more insulation there..
You might have better luck in the regular Florida B.S. Thread than here. most of us are south of that...Wish i had a recommendation for you...

@aru Your better of shipping them to downsouthmotorsports.com, I don't believe any 4x4 shops in Florida have the ability to do this. Its a delicate process, if you don't have the right tools the shocks will fail down the road. my buddy @Acerwin is running KING he may be able to help you with the dealer info.
