Is there a fuse or relay module for the door mode? I havent had any lighting issues but did notice the tabs on my fuse box are broken/missing, so ive gotta take it in to get that replaced

Be careful when buying LED lights. Lots of them are cheap chinese knockoffs which can cause problems. Not just with automotive LED's but LED's in general.

I wonder if it has something to do with how little wattage LED's pull.

I have been running LED interior lights for a couple of weeks now without any issues. I have LED lights in my wife Highlander without any issues.

Darn new fangled computers .... so would disconnecting the battery be safer? Or are there diodes etc that would still hold a charge and still damage it?

I also installed lights from vled over a month and 4500 miles ago, lots of time on and off and I have had zero issues. I also put in most of the bulbs in the wrong way at first(bulb wouldn't light up) and just switched them around and they worked fine and no fuses blew.

yeah same here. yes you pay a lot more for vleds, but as the old saying goes :)

good thing about velds 194 series, they are dual polarity, so you cant put them in wrong. the 3022 and vanity lights are single polarity but even putting them in wrong never blew a fuse or anything. just the hassle of taking them back out and flipping them like you.

Going to the dealership tomorrow. I'll keep you all updated. There is a vibration noise coming from the toggle switch by the map lights now. I'm assuming the switch may have something to do with it.

    UPDATE:
They said they couldn't find the problem, and that the shop rate was $80/hour if I wanted to go ahead and if it turned out not to be under warranty. So I said forget it for now...

He said it's almost 100% impossible that it would be a problem from the factory, yet here I am, in the exact same configuration as I was from day one.

Right now I just have the switch to OFF, and at night if I need to see inside I just flip them ON!

    I think he's right.

When you got the truck, it worked fine, correct?

You may have returned it to the exact same configuration, but the attempted modification is what caused the problem isn't it?

There's something amiss that only patience and some diagnostic work will eventually ferret out.

Oh I agree that it's likely my fault, which is why I hesitated the labour. What puzzles me is that ok - I blew a fuse - so I replaced it and put the original bulbs in and that's when this started happening. So it's clearly beyond a fuse.

I keep checking around for the availability of the '16 service manuals to no avail so far. The fact that the dealer couldn't figure it out kind of makes me hesitant to get too deep into it, assuming they checked all the obvious things like fuses and switches and relays.
