One Month Ownership: my Pet Peeves!

Yeah... the people complaining likely live in well-lit areas and perceive the headlights as dim....
But don't listen to me, I have bright AF LEDs on all my cars

 

Same here. I don't get the light thing except for the fact that people seem to want an excuse for aesthetic purposes to throw HIDs and/or LEDs in those holes. I find the light more than adequate and better than the 15.

I recently drove back from Winston-Salem at night on a two lane road in the rain. No complaints about lighting here.

 

Try this on your door unlocking fob. Press and hold the lock and unlock button on the fob until you hear three chirps and the MID will show 1 door or all four doors. Then when you touch the handle it will do 1 or 4 doors. Very easy solution

 

It could be that I'm used to the Xenon lights in my Acura, but the Taco lights seem dim to me - even my wife noticed. I guess what I need to do is take it out of the city and see how they look on unlit streets/highways.

 

The issue they were discussing was being able to touch the door handle with the FOB in your pocket and have the doors unlock. The sensors are only on the driver door handle, so you can't open from the passenger side unless you pull the FOB out of your pocket.

 

OEM Headlights are great IMO

 

If they were so worried about carjacking, I highly doubt they'd allow the capability to unlock all doors in one step.

 

Don't like how the DL actuation system will send an alert when the vehicle is not running. To me a simple DL-2.0ex should have be installed to prevent this

 

My 14 IS came like that and my wife of all people was able to go in and program it to open all doors

 

I never bothered to check for that specific setting... I will tonight for shiites and giggles.
But my argument was against the quoted post of potential carjacking...

Mine opens all 4 doors when I touch the door handle... I used the head unit to change the lock/unlock sequence from 1 push=drivers... to 1 push = all doors...!!............. Now 1 push on remote unlocks ALL doors.

Good for me..!!

 

I welcome any potential carjackers. They better shoot me or knock me out and make sure the first shot counts or they'll be on the receiving end of Mr. ThreeFiveSeven

same here, no street lights whatsoever in our development and the stock lights
are very bright - no issues at all with them.

 

yeah that was my point. Have mine set the same way.

 

CCW so if they get to the truck the same time I do, it will be coming out before I ever get inside!

 

I packed one of those when I was over the road in my younger days. A told me once WTF you carrying that cannon around for? Someone with a small auto will get you with 4 shots before you get that thing out. Made sense to me

 

Same Here, I think the lights are quite bright. In the past several cars I've had have HIDs.

The Tacoma can be programmed to unlock all four doors via some funky gear shifter manipulation programming, or via the main display if you have the Entune app synced I believe.
