    I hit on one. I only had about an hour to fish, with no waders. This time of year that is a major handicap up here. Fly fishing is great. Learning is terrible if you have no patience. They key is: the slower the better. Take your time and don't rush anything.

    Really depends on where you fish/learn. Up here a roll cast is a necessary weapon where I go. I prefer small streams, but won't shy away from the big water. I wish there was more big water. Hell, most of my rods are 7-7 1/2', I even have a 5 footer I play with sometimes. It is very rare to break out the 8 or 9' rod.

    I took the wrong rod tonight. Tried throwing heavy flys 40' with a 4wt. doesn't work too well.

    Part of that is the lack of waders.
