Mine is a '89 Reg Cab 4x4 with 35" tires and 4.88 gears. I only use it for hunting and probably only drive it about 8 weeks a year. Works pretty good too!

Nice! I filled my once in a lifetime buffalo tag here in AZ a while back. Awesome adventure for sure!

 

In the next to the last picture, a couple common mergansers and a gadwall, all hens. In the last picture, a pair of mallards. The canyon riverway I hunt is below a reservoir, and this fall they have the water screaming out at around 1000 cfs -- it is usually about 1/10 that. It has played havoc on my waterfowl hunting. Pretty much all that's using the river now are powerful divers like mergansers (common and hooded), common goldeneye, and buffleheads. We will see if that changes at all as the big push of ducks from the north hit. The flow is also making many of my favorite spots too treacherous to retrieve birds since I don't have a dog, really restricting my options.

 

Cool congratulations. I haven't spent too much time chasing them the last few years because we have a general open season all winter, no draw required. Technically these are wood bison and the herd is getting too big. Once we have snow most guys use a Skidoo to hunt them. Once on the ground they are still 4 feet thick.
I need to fill the freezer as i didn't get out after moose last fall. Too busy with work and kids. Here's a pic of my brothers Alberta elk from this year. H e was an old bugger.

 

Found a few old pics of the Rhino I mentioned in the OP. My one and only archery bull tag here in AZ. Worst rut ever that year. Hot dry and nasty. Only heard 3 bugles in 8 days and almost got in a fight with an idiot claiming ownership of a waterhole. Lol.

The push is really slow this year, they are weeks behind normal because the weather is so mild. Arctic birds have moved down but most of the ducks seem "stuck". Good luck and be safe on the river.

 

I have already upload this pic in the Hunting pic thread but there it is again I use my truck to access some trails and when they are getting too narrow, I stop and walk. Don't want too lose parts haha. For now the truck I nearly stock, only a small lift that was already on the truck when I bought it. Now I am now considering a hard shell or a softopper, roof rack, better lighting for trails and better tire since I blown one of the stock ones haha

 

We had these 2 Scouts as our South Texas hunting rigs ever since I was little...but we sold them off a number of years ago.
With South Texas hunting people typically have dedicated "Ranch Truck" because everything has thorns and they will destroy both the paint and tires of your everyday truck.

It looks like your lighting is pretty good already. I was wondering what tire size your running? Also FYI I managed to get my 6 ft topper off my old 92 Toyota 4x4 to fit on my Tacoma by using the old boat rack to bridge the size difference between the canopy and box. It ended up being a good fit plus saved a few bucks by using something just layin around the yard. The colour was even perfect.

I do have to agree for my lighting but I like powerful lights and the hellas aren't enough for me haha
The first pic of a black steelie in my post wasn't supposed to be there haha I am running stock 245/75/16 tire and won't upgrade soon haha that would kill my mpg. I love to have a fuel efficient hunting rig I will change the dunlops next spring for a set of Toyo Open Country ATII in the same size.

For the shell, I always keep my eyes open for a deal around town. I am still debating on wich top will suit my need... a "permanent" hard shell or a removable softopper... Love the look of a softopper and the utility but it is not theftproof and can't put a roof rack on it... and I would have to relocate my bedlights and my cb antenna haha. I have also written to softopper customer service and I am scared to see the back window of the topper to crack during winter, so I would take it off... so there is no advantage in winter... I guess the deal will help the choice hehe.

You did a good job on your topper tho! I had one similar on my 1990 taco but I sold it with the truck because it wasen't in a very good shape.

 

I have never seen a Softopper on a Taco but wouldn't a typical Quebec winter destroy it?
I envy u having the 2.7 l engine. The 4 litre is powerful but thirsty. Best I have ever done is about 19 MPH highway running 265/70/17 tires. I doubt going to 265/65/16 would improve much my rig. I think my old 4 banger 22R's got better mileage once i installed 1050 31 15's back in the day.

 

Quebec winter is why I am hesitating on a softopper... I saw a few one on some taco here but they are not very popular. I look on a seller to this morning and they don't sell them anymore because of the difference between CAD$ and US$... So for now I'll keep my bed open and keep on looking for a shell.

About the 2.7, I am very glad to have bought it! Doing mostly 21 mpg but now with heavier winter tire and cold air it is getting down :/. The only thing that it rush a bit to haul is my canam outlander in a 10' hd trailer. For everything else, it's perfect!
