    I lost track...
I might be interested in the rear bumper if the price is right, was this the one you had on your truck for the Darrington run? Are you thinking about switching to a Pelfrey rear?

I don't get out of the NW much these days so thanks. I would have started at the wrong end (under the hood)

Im not sure on the price yet...id have ot see what used ones have been selling for.

And yep its the one i had on the Darrington trip.

Ive been considering getting a Pelfrey rear. Not sure if swingout or just the high clearance. And its just an idea yet. Was just seeing if there was interest lol

Just got a call from ECGS, assembled 3rd and clamshell just shipped!

Might anyone happen to have a transmission jack I could borrow to help drop/raise the clamshell. I'm not even going to pretend I could safely bench that thing. #skinnyguyproblems

Being able to have a swing out was half the reason I got the bumper!! You must get one. A quarter of it was to run a trasharoo.. Then the rest is for clearance

It only weighs 62 pounds. (or so). Just use your jack for lifting the car to lift it if you need.

Yeah im thinking either high clearance without the swing out. But we will see im still debating if ill even do it

Oh good, that's not as bad as I expected. Yeah the floorjack and some extra hands to keep it steady should do the trick. Thanks man

Checked out the total today and it's in better shape than I was expecting, would make a great off road project! The whole box is shot, front left just under the headlight is smashed in so the core support and inner fender are bad, the hood looks ok but both fenders are caved in. The cab looks great and the guy at the shop said the frame is fine and it runs and drives great. Now I'm just hoping the buy back price won't be crazy. Will find out next week possibly.

Sounds like its in good shape overall other than body work for the most. I say....you take the engine for the 4 runner and then do a LS1 swap into the tacoma!

Funny, I have an LQ4 in my shop that might make its way into my taco eventually. Too many projects going on for me though.

    Shit on a black truck.
Can you throw a picture of this up? My rear bumper is the last chrome I have to get off my truck.

Went Dino hunting today. Caught me a wild one! It's dumping snow over here at lake kachess. We're not too high up in elevation either. image.jpg

@JDAM and i just came back from there! Probably snowed at least 6-8 inches while we were up there. Hit the lost lake road and then went up the kachess/gold creek road.

You will only want to put chains on the rear tires. Theres not really any room for chains in the front. I cant help you on brand or anything but i know some tires stores that sell chains have a deal where if you dont use them you can return them for a refund in the spring.

I havent needed chains yet. I5 is usually kept pretty clear for the semi's. When its bad in the passes in Oregon they usually shut it down.

4x4 and some weight in the back should be all you need. Might be worth looking into the ABS kill switch mod and Locker all the time mod since you are an off road.

Agreed with @velillen , I am a semi truck driver who hauls over I-5 up and down the coast a lot. In the winter time, siskyou pass gets a little knarly, but really if you have 4 wheel drive, you should be fine. Oregon is a smarter state when it comes to snow. California on the other hand freaks out when they see a snowflake and throws the chain law up. Sandbags in the back and a light foot will get you over the passes just fine. I see you have the Off-road edition. If you're running stock tires, BFG Rugged Trail (I think) those can act as a traction tire. I am not sure if they are rated M+S though.

Hope this helps. Doesn't really answer your question about what chains to get lol...

Hahah yeah. It's more for chain up or have chains for cali. But as for tires I'm on 285 75 16 cooper at3's. I want to do the abs kill switch and locker mod but haven't yet maybe soon. Driving in snow is normal for me i know the sand bags and stuff from my old 88 yota.. I just wanna grab some decent chains just in case. Probably just go pick some up from tire factory.
